The article admits that seventy percent of incidents classified as "mass shootings" are committed within the home. Thus they are far different from the incidents that occur outside of the home in a public venue, such as a mall, school, restaurant, nightclub, or other such location.

Secondly, having a armed resource officer in a school, does not stop it from being a 'gun free zone', that refers to any school, University, hospitals, govt bldgs, any place that makes more than 40% of revenue from alcohol sales, and any private business that posts no concealed handguns on premises. That legally binds lawful citizens from carrying on that establishment. Lie #1, the Ft Hood shooting: other than the MPs at entry points and a few patrolling the base, 95%+ are unarmed and would have to go to the armory to sign out a weapon. This is still a gun free zone. Lie #2, the biker gang shootout: the FBI does not classify gang vs gang related homicides as mass shootings. The article goes on to talk about motive vs location, hell no one knows that but the perpetrator. So, no, most mass shootings happen in gun free zones, name the instances if you disagree with me .
