Is anyone surprised? I'm certainly not. Institutions built on traditions of character and morality fail pretty quickly when they abandon century old traditions of character and morality.

2013: The Boy Scouts become The Gay Scouts. I return my Eagle medal and end any funding.

2015 The Scout Leadership goes gay. Good luck with that.

2018 The 'Boy' Scouts end as they admit girls.

The left wins another round as a previously solid mostly Christian morality based institution is destroyed by PC poison.

Keep your kids away from this abomination.

Anyone who feels personally threatened or slighted by gay scouts being allowed didn't retain much of the better life lessons that Scouting has to teach.

I doubt that. The core is still there. But the real main issue seems to be inappropriate conduct by employees of BSA, including sex abuse. Yet you apparently thought that things like gay scouts were a more serious concern as you ignored the actually cause in your OP and focused on that instead. I can't imagine what sort of moral system is more outraged by a gay child than by sexual assault, but those certainly weren't priorities I learned in Scouting.

 

Which of the 12 scout laws say gays are not allowed in this organization? I'm guessing you are for discrimination?

 

It was the right move and I'm glad they went with it. They weren't being true to their values. The same people complaining about so-called political correctness here would characterize everything about the Scouts as PC. A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, brave, clean, and reverent?!?!?! *Begins foaming at the mouth* what kind of SJW virtue signaling is this?

Scouting in loads of other countries have accepted homosexuals and girls, in many cases for much longer than in the US and they're not struggling like this. Maybe the cause of the BSA's problems aren't what you're presuming them to be?

Like I mentioned in another post, leftist indoctrination is available (unavoidable?) almost everywhere. When the BSA peddles the same garbage, they will alienate many. It's rarely the boys that instigate membership, it's the parents.

And when BSA loses Utah/LDS it'll be dead.

 

There are many reasons for the declining number. BSA is a non-profit organization as such they have to comply with federal laws regarding discrimination.

By the way, the BSA have girls among their ranks for years and the new girls will have their own troops.

You'd be surprised how often what I learned in scouting translates into useful data and abilities daily.
