Agreed. Trump has obviously misspoken over 7,000 times in the last two years.

As soon as he turns them over as promised. And can I prove what? All the lies? I refer you to the NYT which gave a list and a total.
Are you arguing that he is an honorable and truthful man and not a con-man?

No, he's a con man......and the NYT is just as full of lies.

It's just that you like the lies that the NYT give you and you eagerly swallow them up.

No, the NYT is not full of lies. Is this the type of character that you want as your president? Not me.

But of course that was a lie, just like everything he says. Did anyone REALLY believe him when he said that?

    It's neither of those. It's

    3) He lied to the troops without planning to or telling his wife beforehand (why is Melania being dragged into this?) because he just says whatever occurs to him at the given time because he doesn't care if it's true and he knows his fops don't care either.

Wrong about the NYT. Errors, yes. lies no. But you got him and you don't have to buy into his nonsense. Besides, the NYT is not your president.

A reference to history. Richard Nixon had numerous Article of Impeachment charged against him and one of them was:

    8. making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States into believing that a thorough and complete investigation had been conducted with respect to allegations of misconduct on the part of personnel of the executive branch of the United States and personnel of the Committee for the Re-election of the President, and that there was no involvement of such personnel in such misconduct;

Every time President Trump refers to the FBI and Special Counsel investigations as being a witch hunt where no crimes were committed by members of his campaign and/or administration he's making a false statement. Five of his former associates have already pleaded guilty and/or been convicted of serious felonies. When he makes false statements like "Cohen is making false statements in his guilty pleas for a reduced sentence" the President is making a false statement. Cohen received no reduction in sentencing for his testimony and cooperation with federal prosecutors and the Mueller investigation and no recommendation was made for reduced sentencing. The only recommendation made was that Cohen should serve his two campaign finance violation sentences concurrently with his other sentences. Cohen didn't even have a cooperation agreement when he pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts including two felony counts of violating campaign finance laws to influence the election at the direct of Donald Trump.

Trump's lies about the Mueller Investigation, the investigations by the SDNY, his lies about the FBI and DOJ and those that serve our criminal justice system have been some of the most damaging actions ever made by any president in the history of our nation. Trump's lies about those that have served this nation with honor and distinction in the US military are extremely damaging to the United States. Trump's lies about refugees seeking asylum in the United States are very damaging to our nation.

If the criteria about honesty is based upon whether the dishonesty is damaging to our nation Trump has lied about so many things that are damaging some of that damage may be impossible to overcome by future presidents.

Well, that's mostly all true and well said.

But your point on Nixon's lying is that is was just one of the charges against him, sort of a bonus charge. There was still OOJ, which was the primary impeachment charge.

The same should certainly be true of Trump, as most of his OOJ is out in the open. I assume Mueller will be agreeing with that.

I was just indicating it would be very hard to get any Trumpublican support for impeachment on lying alone.

However, I fully believe little Trump does will be permanently damaging to our nation (barring a war or full-on market collapse).. A new president and he'll mostly be a forgotten loser with ongoing legal issues by 2022.....

President Trump is a self-proclaimed genius that never makes any mistakes so to claim he simply misspoke about legislation that he signed into law contradicts the President's own claims. Did Trump also "misspeak" when he claimed that Democrats don't support border security? Did he misspeak when he claimed that the Border Patrol is doing an excellent job when it's, at the direction of his administration, the Border Patrol created a backlog of thousands of refugees waiting in Mexico to apply for asylum that they have a right to do under our immigration laws, the Refugee Act of 1980, and the Congressional authorization for 75,000 refugee visas in 1980 that the Trump administration has failed to fill?

Donald Trump knew he was lying at the time. He's not that stupid and he lies about things when he knows his statements are lies all of the time. Because Trump also knows that his "base" of about 33% of American voters don't give a damn if he lies as long as he's combative and creates the division of "us v them" within our country.

Not a "Trumper", and it does appear that he lied about the 10% amount. Do you deny that he misspeaks ALOT, or do you think he is a good speaker?

Impeachment is a political process and not a criminal process and while there's ample evidence of criminal wrongdoing by President Trump that virtually forces the House (Democrats) to impeach Trump it's politically a bad move because it's doubtful that Senate Republicans will support removal from office based upon evidence of criminal conduct by the DOJ (FBI and Mueller investigations). In Watergate it literally required the tape of Nixon ordering the blocking of the FBI investigation to convince Republicans that Nixon had to be removed from office. Mueller is unlikely to have Trump on tape literally ordering obstruction of justice. He'll simply have overwhelming evidence of that obstruction of justice.

We saw the same think in the Kavanaugh confirmation. Republicans simply claimed that there wasn't evidence beyond any doubt that Kavanaugh committed sexual assaults when he was in high school and college but that wasn't the problem with Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh misrepresented his alcoholic drinking habits in his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee according to those that knew him when he was in high school and college. They portrayed Kavanaugh as a binge drinker where the goal was to become as intoxicated as possible on those occasion when he was drinking. All of the allegations of sexual assault and conduct included that claim that Kavanaugh was highly intoxicated at the time, there were witnesses that could testify that Kavanaugh was prone to become excessively intoxicated, and Kavanaugh intentionally mislead the Senate Judiciary Committee related to how intoxicated he would get and to lie or be misleading in your testimony under oath is PERJURY. Republicans ignored the perjury, prohibited the FBI from investigating it, so that they could confirm Kavanaugh.

Republicans in the Senate are very likely to ignore claims of criminal wrongdoing by Trump even when there's overwhelming evidence of the criminal act. They're already claiming that felony violations of campaign finance laws where the intent of the violation was to corrupt the election isn't valid because political campaigns often violate the campaign finance laws. The difference they ignore to excuse Trump's criminal behavior is that normally these violations are bookkeeping violations without any intent to corrupt the election.

Trump is likely to be impeached because the evidence is overwhelming but it's unlikely to lead to removal from office because Republicans in the Senate will ignore the evidence.
