I believe this is just another attempt by the anti-trump folks to harm the President. From my research, the foreign emoluments clause was to simply put prevent “gifts” from becoming bribes. The domestic emoluments clause was the prevent the President from receiving other compensation from the taxpayers other than their salary. If Trump was/is in violation due to a business doing business, I don’t see that as a gift, or bribe. I could however see how the State Department buying I believe 80,000 copies of Obama’s book as a violation of the domestic clause, if we are going to be so critical.

Come now you are talking about stay at a hotel for three days, what kind of crappy bribe is that? I find it fun how this is total corruption and dims found nothing with the Clinton crime foundation and bill the woman abuser's speech fees. As crazy as it sounds maybe they wanted to stay a a high rated hotel in close proximity to the downtown area.
THE PRESUMPTION OF GAINING BROWNIE POINTS WITH THE DIRTY DONALD ADMINISTRATION by staying at their hotel gives an unfair business advantage to them over competing nearby hotels.In effect like free advertising.

Even if it is 1k a night that is chump change in a billion dollar business deal.
