its about the lawsuit, not their existance, they dont want to live there, they just want those peoples preferred choices banned... do want your choices banned within your own household? cause that'll be next on their list, forcing you to allow anyone that wants to , to live in your home whether you like it or not... this is their agenda...

I own a few apartment complexes, I don’t care about irrelivant data on the tenants as long as they pay their rent on time and respect the property. I’ve only run into two groups of people in 10 years that I prefer not to rent to and that is because of their actions in the past but I make exceptions on a case by case basis.

its a religous retirement community, evidentally their lifestyle choice is'nt condoned by the church, and rental ads would most likely be posted in the church not the classified section of an outside paper, ergo why would they want to live there? this smacks of a stunt...


yes, as a landlord in a normal open community their lifestyle is a non issue and could get you sued for discrimination, but in that closed, religous community they have a right to limit tennants to those that follow the same religous beliefs...

there's one nearby me, several nice homes along a circle road with the church in the center of the circle. when those homes are sold, they are not listed, they are private sales to church members and should remain that way, who are we to tell them they cant do that...

Gay people can be religious you know, and many churches welcome them with open arms. I always thought religious principal was to bring more people to the word of god, not turn them away.

That is the problem with religious belief — no two people share the same version.

I see nothing wrong with what you posted, it’s a “members only” arrangement. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. They are an assisted living community that is open to the public for purchase.

The couple also had friends there so I’m not sure your belief that is was targeted holds water.

Either way I just find it sad. Sad for these women and sad for the people cheering it along.
It will likely end up before the SCOTUS and we will see if gay people are the only group in America that can be legally discriminated against.

The left desires a society in which government is central to all and controls everything. The idea that "open to the public" private institutions exist drives them batshit mad.

 

I believe private enterprise should have the ability to run the business the way they feel best to run THEIR business.

I would suspect that discriminate behavior might not be best for their bottom line.

But for two lesbians to go into a private Christian nursing home and then throw a fit when they’re turned down is most definitely a set up.
