    My home state of NJ wants to reduce how much ammo a person can buy, and I heard Oregon wants to limit ammo purchases to something 20 rounds a month. Had they doled out ammo with an eyedropper to this homeowner, then he might have been a victim instead of alive.

    Second Amendment restrictions, regulations, taxes, permits, etc only punish honest people.

    Less than 10 rounds were apparently fired by the homeowner, he’s a better shot than me.

    Play stupid games win stupid prizes — too bad two of them lived.

    The story says "dozens" of shots. Not sure if the attackers were firing, doesn't really say.

    Apparently he hit all of them though.

    It's fair that death may be the result of breaking into someone's dwelling. It should be the likely result.

    Two bad the other two lived or better yet left quadriplegic for life so they had to live the next 20 years sucking through a straw. Then the guy could come to the hospital everyday and smear dog **** all over their faces and leave it their until the nurses got back.

    Was the homeowners name John Wick by chance?

    I'd be the first one calling for someone to go to jail for shooting someone knocking on their door, but I'll also be the first to cheer when they get shot kicking in the door.

    Interestingly, the presence of a firearm in the home makes the household LESS safe, and much more prone to firearm tragedy.

    More guns = Not less crime, but more tragedy

    Not at all. Even the most conservative studies show that tens of thousands of violent crimes are interrupted (defensive gun use) by legal gun owners each year.

    They just want everyone to curl up into a ball and suck their thumb, because they know that's what they'd do, and it makes them feel inferior.

    They should feel that way, because they are.

    Is this what your source says is a firearm tragedy? 5 people shot and 3 dead, this isn't a tragedy. This is justice through self defense.

    I hope not, but something doesn't smell right. Last year's AR wielding homeowner who shot and killed some people doing a "drive by" on his house didn't seem likely either, and they no billed him. You never know.
