When Trump tweeted that we're withdrawing from Syria, it was met with criticism, predictably from the left, but also occassionally from the right. But the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced how historical a moment that was. For the first time in history, an average citizen like myself found out a strategic decision the time time and means as members of Congress and many generals. In the past we've only paid lip service to "All men are created equal", but with Trump you're living it. People were angered by it because it wasn't how it was done before, but the British were equally angry to hear from a citizen that their troops had to withdraw from the continent.
Dirty Donald has the power of the presidency! How is he different than any of his predecessors???Your post makes no sense.
I don't think it was predictable from the left. They've been calling for withdrawal from the ME since 2004 at least. Their sudden blood-lust and desire for American hegemony took me by surprise. It's like Trump decided to tax the rich at 93% and redistribute it to the poor and the left attacked him and called for corporate subsidies.
I agree he empowered a closeted nazi element best kept under the rock, many of them now comprising the private militias he uses to kill more and more entirely innocent people.
The exact same issues with Kurds existed in the Iraq War. Syria is a sovereign nation, it sucks but we shouldn't go gallivanting around the globe installing puppet leaders for every minority. I thought the left was on board with that sentiment, I thought wrong.
