There's a reason it's called the Russia investigation.

"A lot of the criticism seems to be driven by the notion that the FBI’s investigation was, and is, an effort to undermine or discredit President Trump. That assumption is wrong. The FBI’s investigation must be viewed in the context of the bureau’s decades-long effort to detect, disrupt and defeat the intelligence activities of the governments of the Soviet Union and later the Russian Federation that are contrary to the fundamental and long-term interests of the United States. The FBI’s counterintelligence investigation regarding the 2016 campaign fundamentally was not about Donald Trump but was about Russia. Full stop."

Accepting this premise makes delusional the claims the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt. Or a coup. Or a hoax. Or anything other than the constitutional, professionally run, fully authorized examination in to what Russia did (and is still doing) to subvert our democracy.

I suggest reading the whole article.

Any fool with a modicum of intelligence can see the FBI took a bought and paid for 'dossier' by Hillary's Campaign and worked with her Campaign to try to spy on Trump to win the election.

When that failed, they tried (still trying) to remove Trump with a silent deep state coup.

Every last one of those sumbiches need to be in jail.

    Full stop.

Robert, if you're out there, this is for you.

"Remember that the standards of predication are quite low. To open an investigation, the FBI doesn’t need proof of a crime, or even probable cause of criminal activity. It need only see evidence that “An activity constituting a federal crime or a threat to the national security has or may have occurred, is or may be occurring, or will or may occurand the investigation may obtain information relating to the activity or the involvement or role of an individual, group, or organization in such activity” (emphasis added)."

Actually, millions of fools believe this Trumpian make believe taht the investigation was based on the "dossier". This myth has been promoted by the White House and the right wing noise machine for two years.

First of all, the investigation began before the "dossier" existed. Second, nothing in the "dossier" has been discredited (yet).

Third, we don't know what Mueller knows, particularly about a complex web of business relationships between Trump and his Russian creditors.

Oh, and who had to "spy" on the chaos, stupidity and sloppiness of the Trump campaign? It leaked like a sieve, just as the Administration does.

And yet virtually nothing of substance has been discovered by this farce of an investigation.

I'm bumping all your nonsense russia collusion threads when the report is finally released. You think it will be hard to bump 1000+ threads since you make one about it every day?

The dossier was the main piece of 'evidence' used in the very first and all subsequent FISA warrant applications. The investigation doesn't exist without it.

Maybe that's news to you. Consider yourself informed.

Bruce Ohr even told the head honchos that is was opposition research before the FISA warrant applications. Every GD bit of it is a scam.

Furthermore, it's not an investigation, it's opposition SPYING.

Facts are, if Hillary were have won, there would be no Russia Russia Russia investigations.

Russia was doing no different than what the United States has been doing for over 70 years.

Hillary meddled in Russia's elections while Obama was meddling in Israeli elections.

Russia/Soviet Union has been meddling in America's elections going back before the Vietnam War.

What's different today, the internet and FaceBook and the MSM reports fake news.

And yet, every time something like this appears, you claim this is the one that will bring down the president.

Said it before, will say it again, hilarious to see the LW turn into McCarthyites who would stick their nose all the way up the evil J Edgar Hoover's crack if he could have delivered actionable dirt on their political opposition.

What vile, insane, corrupt hypocrites these people have become... or maybe were always and the net is just exposing it.

Unsurprisingly, you either didn't read the article or missed its point entirely.

    That isn't remotely true either.

Here is a brief list of things that we did not know before the election.

-That every senior member of the Trump campaign was hands on deck for a meeting in the Trump Tower with agents of the Russian government set up on the pretence of colluding to spread dirt on Hillary Clinton.

-That a whole host of senior Trump campaign officials and Trump hangers on, had almost routine, repeated contact with agents and officials of the Russian government.

-That negotiations over a proposed Trump Tower Moscow, to be financed by Vladimir Putin's bank, and included a free $50 million condo for Vlad himself went right up to almost election day.

-That the campaign manager for the Trump campaign was deep in debt to a Russian oligarch and offered (and now we know provided) insider briefings and intelligence on the campagn to Russian intelligence operatives during the campaign.

-That the Russians FSB was indeed to primary source for the flood of fake social media posts and the comprehensive social media influence campaign that the Russians ran on Trump's behalf.

-That the Russians told the Trump campaign that they were the ones who hacked the DNC months before the first dump.

    That's just a few things. There's a lot more.

Even the Repub controlled Senate Intel Committee reached the irrefutable conclusion the Russia investigation was not initiated because of the dossier. Yet these myths persist inside the confused, misinformed, conservative media bubble.

Once again I'm compelled to point out your refusal, and the refusal of Trumpers in general, to accept material, objective facts.

    FACT CHECK OF THE DAY

Trump Falsely Claims Russia Investigation Started Because of Steele Dossier

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/21/...rump-russia-investigation-steele-dossier.html

"As The New York Times reported in December, the investigation began in July 2016 — after George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, told an Australian diplomat that Russia had political “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. Australian officials then alerted their American counterparts.

The information provided by Mr. Steele did not reach the F.B.I. officials charged with investigating Mr. Trump’s campaign until mid-September, The Times reported last week.

Republicans who hold the majority vote on the House Intelligence Committee have also stated that the investigation was opened because of information linked to Mr. Papadopoulos — not Mr. Steele’s dossier."

They will be too busy preparing Chelsea Clinton for a run at the presidency to ever bring up Mueller's report again.

FYI, the only concern over giving testimony is that it is untruthful. The "perjury trap" meme is a pile of dung.

It's called the Russian Investigation because calling it, The we're gonna get that Bastard Trump no matter what investigation would have been too obvious.
