    If you needed more proof that Democrats are responsible for the government shutdown this is it.

    Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw reported on Twitter that Republicans had a plan to pay federal workers during the shutdown.

    But that proposal did not pass because all but 6 Democrats voted against it.

    Dems have voted to prevent the payment of federal workers.

    The media isn't reporting on this.

    Just putting the facts out there for people who are interested.

    Republicans have tried to compromise.

    Trump really should mention this at the SOTU, because the media isn't going to report it.

    Dirty Donnie owns this shutdown, he said so.
    No Mexican money has arrived and he still doesn’t have the votes.
    DD is holding 800,000 federal workers hostage.

    The House alone has the power of the purse. Trump cannot force the House fund The Wall or anything else.
    Pelosi and the DP are standing on some principle that is more important than paying an important part of their political base, government employees.
    Their polling must tell them that a shutdown is a real winner for the DP. ;-)

    If the situation were reversed, the cons here would be screaming like stuck pigs.

    Remember that if this blackmail works, anyone can use it.

    You have a point, and I would I'll agree with that. However, no one is going to get 100% of what they want out of this. So you need to give a take. Trump has offered up DACA, and some concessions on the wall. What has Nancy given? Nothing.

    Trump’s offer is not DACA for wall. It’s reopening of government for wall.

    Nancy shouldn’t have to give anything to get Donny boy to get off his lazy golfing ass to do his ****** job and pay the people who have been doing theirs.

    Open the government and then trump can ask dems to support what his constituents want in exchange for him supporting what dem’s constituents want.

    Then why weren’t these emergency funding or defunding handled when republicans had complete control for nearly two years?

    Instead of the 50 votes to defund the ACA...
