We think Venezuela is a third world cesspool, and it is. But are we really much different? We currently have a slow motion coup going on in the U.S., with the Dems trying to oust Trump.

Sounds like you prefer US bullying, US espionage, international crime, inciting riots and rebellion, thuggery, and even outright force like assassinations and military intervention "if we can get away with it". And I see no ethics, honor, nor morality in any of those! What did I say that is incorrect?

But you are fine with the US interfering with Russian elections and elections in other countries?

LOL!!! Learn some history about US Aid. Get an old book named "The Enemy" by Felix Greene. Aid has been used to benefit US corporations to the point of poisoning people in other countries for profit.

I literally denounced what Hillary did with Russia, and to be very specific: As long as said governments are pro-US(or at least not-anti US and not that much anti-human rights), I can live with them.

No, I'd rather not risk interactions with Russia. In my shared powers doctrine, I recognize the Meditterrean to the Russians. I recognize Eurasia is a shared territory between Russia/China. I properly recognize Asia to be Japan's sphere of influence, and that Japan is a very rich and vital partner in our Pacific interests. If powers recognize other powers, that's a step forward towards stability.

As an example: Everyone recognizes the US Sphere of influence(even though we don't really politically manuever in it. My guess is that Washington feels as though we've maximized the Western Hemisphere.), that's why we haven't faced a direct war since Pearl Harbor. It's why if we did choke off all Middle Easterners, jihad could never harm US interests again.

I simply recognize everyone else's sphere of influence, and even their governments. As long as said government doesn't pose a geopolitical threat to our own, or to its own neighbors.

You mean like Obama endorsing Macron for France?

    Great choice, Obama.

No, that wouldn't be a case of interfering. Why don't you know that even without thinking?

Oh so you'd be cool with Putin doing some endorsements here then.

That would be a nice break from his attempts to actually meddle in the vote and the elections to change them, not to mention his work to divide the country and pit citizen against citizen.

Great, thanks for allowing Putin to run some ads openly next time then.

No more of that sneaking around stuff now!

Given Germany (the force behind the EU) support for Putin, and their love of “democratic” socialism like Venezuela...I’m surprised they backed us

Unelected leaders stick together Durandal. One of the most genuine reasons for wanting out of the EU is the lack of democracy.

How come you are not reporting the rioting in the streets and their worthless dollar. As a result of Socialism and Maduro the people there don't even have toilet paper. Geez man see the forest for the trees. Socialism does not work.

How is the EU undemocratic? One issue I see with it is low voter turnout, a problem they share with us in the US.

I think you will find the US Government had more to do with the financial collapse of Venezuela than the desire to help the people of Venezuela living in absolute poverty.

He has ruled by dictate for most his entire term. I question the US motives in all of this and don't support regime change, but by any rational standard Maduro is a dictator.

The Venezuelan people ought to rise up and shoot him into a ditch. But without a cent of support from the West. Sort it out themselves.
