The reason that passionate gun fanciers are so enamored of permissive gun laws in the US is not because young white males are given easy access to firearms and some continually shoot innocent Americans to death in massacre after massacre.

Yes, one can cite the tragic toll inflicted by armed young white men in America, but isolating and hyping any demographic in such criminal acts is an irrational appeal to prejudice, intended to demonize a single targeted profile.

 

Shall we cite the pistol permit debacle in the state of New York, and the uncovered widespread corruption that has infested the entire system? Shall we go over the number of individuals who have been issued permits for firearms who never should have been in the first place?

 

The reason I’m pro gun is summed up perfectly by the 2nd A.

No other explanation needed for me. The hunting, target shooting and home protection aspect is all secondary too me.

 

We can attempt whatever diversions serve agendas, of course.

fortunately we own several. my husband and i are always armed. he is an expert marksman and i am not far behind. we will not be victims. our guns will never be used in the commission of a crime. we are exactly the kind of people you want carrying guns. and let me correct you on something: we are not allowed to own guns: it is our natural right. it is the state who is not allowed to violate our natural rights... yours included.

Correct, so long as the media is happy to obsessively report on such, and glorify the perpetrator with a level of infamy and recognition they could not have achieved otherwise.

 

The only individuals that would actually HAVE to defend themselves from the member above, would be those who are engaged in criminal acts against them, and threatening their own well being. To make the statement that has been made on the part of yourself, is to express concern for violent, criminally-minded individuals who see nothing wrong with harming others for their own benefit.

I don't want rapists to have guns. I'm not against women having them as long as they can adequately demonstrate they will not use them in a criminal or insane manner. In these matters, I trust women far more than men.

Yes, as long as we continue to focus on guns and not the causes of the human behavior the killings will continue to get worse.

 

Even gun shows are no longer allowed in Orange county and probably will be banned across the state soon.

 

How sad for Orange County and California. In my town the VFW puts on an annual gun show in the high school gym. The last murder we had in town was over 10 years a go; a guy stabbed his wife to death.

 

The state cannot have a monopoly on force, so long as the people remain armed.

Common sense:
- Has an actual effect on preventing criminals from getting guns
- Does not limit the rights of the law abiding.

 

He should not have a gun because he wants to have the means to protect himself from the people like you want to let out of prison and the illegal aliens you welcome with open arms?

Good for you. States like California/ Connecticut/ Colorado/ Maryland/ Massachusetts/ New Jersey/ New York/ DC aggressively supervise/ limit civilian gun access and oppose the NRA. That "Russian" connection with the NRA is also receiving scrutiny.
