Putting his comedic insertions aside, it was the best explanation of what Brexit is really all about that I have seen to date.

 

It was good for them to leave.

 

The chaos of us electing Trump and the British voting for Brexit illustrate how completely clueless the majority of the populaton is in matters that will affect them directly. Half of those who voted for chaos too lazy too find out. The other half too gullible to question it.

I like how he doesn't address the problems that they were having which caused a majority to vote to leave the EU.

How about we have a fair discussion and talk about how their participation in the EU was hurting them more than leaving it will?

Maybe if Mr. Oliver was impartial he would also add the benefits they will gain by leaving it.

Britain never got fully into the EU to begin with,they never adopted the EURO as their currency.

Indeed. In the UK and the US, people fell for right-wing extremist agendas and now they see the consequences. Every time that people fall for bigoted demagoguery, the world suffers.

 

You do realize that France is next on the list for leaving the EU don't you? Setting the sovereignty issues aside and just looking at the economics it is stupid for a country like the UK to stay in since they are a net payer in the system meaning they had to pay other countries for their incompetence. Had the EU consisted of the UK and northern Europe it might have worked but since they including the crappy countries like Italy, Spain, Greece and others it was doomed to failure since those countries are worse at managing their finances and taxes than Wesley Snipes. Everyone knows about Greece but many people aren't aware that the EU has had to bail out the Italian banks three times now staving off a complete collapse of the Italian banking system.

What the UK did wrong was slow rolling the exit and trying to move like a snail. Its like removing a band-aid, just rip the ****ing thing off and get it over with. The first thing they should have done is set up a nice trade deal with the US, Japan and other non-EU countries but instead that idiot May uses a rowboat in a speedboat race.
