Think he gets that from the New Democratic Party and their platform to end air travel and replace it with high speed rail --- or is it the other way around? Have our new Democrats adopted the ways of backward Socialist countries? Which is it? When do high speed rail tickets from NY to London go on sale? Will the sale be open or will Pelosi and Democrats be given a corner on the market and be allowed to scalp them ,,, like Pelosi cornered shares in the VISA IPO while holding up swipe fee legislation? Inquiring minds want to know.
mitch.I don't think anyone is proposing inter continental train travel unless the continents are already joined by solid land
"Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appears to be recalibrating expectations for what the dialogue might achieve. “President Trump’s said this is going to take time,” Pompeo told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, minimizing the president’s own relentlessly upbeat messaging. "The White House talking points on the Hanoi summit have been noticeably uneven. Last week, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders argued that just talking with Kim should be considered a victory for the president (despite the protestations of diplomats who say that negotiations without preconditions have helped to legitimize Kim). In private, however, senior Trump aides have reportedly expressed skepticism that anything good will come of another media spectacle, and worry that Trump could make major concessions to Kim in his zeal to declare an end to the decades-long Korean War and perhaps even win a Nobel Peace Prize." https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/02/trump-pompeo-north-korea-summit-hanoi This is what happens when there is a narcissistic President who makes himself the leading diplomat. This is what happens when there is a narcissistic President who fails to have agreements made before he meets with his adversary. This is what happens when there is a narcissistic President who does not want to share the limelight with anyone. This is what happens when there is a narcissistic President who must always be center of attention. This will be just another glorified photo op. Kim is not about to give up his nuclear weapons and missiles because he believes they are necessary for regime survival. Kim will make some minor concessions again that mean nothing in terms of denuclearization, but they do cause Trump to keep meeting with him, enhancing his image in the world. After all, for decades the Kim regime wanted to meet one-on-one with the American President. Trump is the first and only President to meet with the communist dictator, and he does so without any prior agreements. It is no wonder Pompeo is backtracking on expectations as fast as he can. Trump said last week he is in “no rush” for the North to give up its weapons. “I have no pressing timetable,” he said. Trump expects to meet with Kim again.
