I'm not in the least tempted to care whether you agree with me or not. You know exactly the phrase Pelosi used, just as well as I, and it's too cliche to keep quoting. Cortez ego sent her off half cocked, and as is always the case, people are pointing and laughing. If Ms Cortez wants to be taken seriously, she needs to approach her duties more seriously. Schumer doesn't care about sparing Cortez feelings, he cares about embarrassing his party.

AOC is as close to the opposite of a policy - economics - geopolitical - governance WONK as we're likely to ever get in the House; the opposite of Paul Ryan! AOC seems to make up for ineptitude in logical areas of her brain with more than a modicum of emotional & relational intelligence. Alluding to my above post, power and influence is garnered from the masses through 'fear & wonder' (gladiator). Though 'green' Socialistic ideals AOC will 'give the masses death; and they will love her for it'

It's less than even that, it's a NON-BINDING resolution. Congresspersons cannot really be held to saying "but you resolved" as it is Non-Binding. It means truly LESS than nothing. like the non-binding resolution to say that restoring old cars is an interesting hobby.

OTOH by being against it Congresspersons CAN be rightfully accused of defending air and water pollution, energy and resource waste and global warming as GOOD things, things that they wish to promote.

I understand the meaning behind the Green New Deal but that isn't enough.

For instance, someone with enough understanding on next gen nuclear needs to be able to communicate ideas to a person like AOC, but obviously there are brilliant minds much better than mine out there, but can they penetrate the defenses?
Thorium reactors CANNOT melt down. Traveling Wave Reactors can burn nuclear waste.
Can anyone get through to AOC that it is possible to someday handle the nuclear waste and meltdown risks so that next generation nuclear can play a role in alternative energy?

See? If she clings too tightly, we all lose. A proposal like the GND has to be written in a polished, technically accurate and concise manner, not like a half baked rough draft term paper.
