    I generally like to believe that I have a fairly good vocabulary, but a quick trip to a dictionary humbles me immensely. And now, I can add this list to my humbling. I found Onism interesting - who knew that was even a thing, much less to have it be given a name?!?!

    It seems the power of words are not determined by the speaker, but by the listener's vocabulary and comprehension.

    which is why I am a fan of Frank Luntz. (his science, not his politics).

    I love geographical dialects and vocabularies. My current favorite is 'brought upsy'...describes a person who was raised with manners.
