A black woman was beaten by a white man with a gun. Police charged her with damaging his truck.

I am just going off the report I provided. The video also seems to show him putting it away before he hits her. The gun isn't in his hand when he knocks the phone out of her hand then hit her. With that said, he is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Regardless of him doing that, that does not give her the right to break out the car windows.

 

Yeah ... I said so too, just more dispassionately. Though I also said I expect new details will come out. But I'll tell you this in this era of sexual equality, check your female privilege if you ask for a fight.

I have never seen men that stand around and watch a man assault a woman, I guess this new class of men are different than the way I was brought up. The police probably saw her smash the truck window. They didn't see what he did, but investigated and arrested him. What is the issue?

 

Because race plays a roll in daily American life.

 

Please read the article and watch the video. He did not beat her with a pistol. He punched her with his fist. Not defending what he did after trying to get a photo of her license plate after she was going the wrong way. After that, both were in the wrong in terms of escalating what happened, he was the first to get physical by slapping the phone out of her hand. He should be charged for that and for battery.

Edit: he is now being charged with aggravated assault which is a felony.

What he did was bad enough. No need to exaggerate what he did.

 

The case should be handled without worrying about anyone's skin color. That is for racists. We are Americans.

It sounds like they are both out of line, but whoever struck the first blow should feel the greatest heat. Anyone that over reacted should also feel the heat.

I wasn't really referring to the current incident but to the way law enforcement has been infiltrated by right-wingers who have a militant, white nationalist mentality and are consciously trying to infest police departments to further their agenda and let them get away with murder.
The traditional cop mentality of stonewalling and covering up for their fellow cops is enabling the rogue cops to get away with it.

 

Salacious headlines don't help anything, neither does assuming that race or gender had anything to do with anything.

Thank god he did not shoot her, is what I take away from this. But I am in no way agreeing that he should have touched her at all, unless of course she was trying to assault him and his actions were in self defense.

Are black people as a race, more prone to physical violence than say whites, asians or hispanics? Surely we have reliable stats that would shed light on this question? I personally have no idea as to the facts. What I do know is that black americans are more likely to commit crimes than others, if the fact that they are around 13 percent of our population is given as context. From reading my local paper here, it is clear that most crime is being committted by the black american here where I live, and most are committed against other black americans. Should this fact affect policing? Without racism being use to explain it?

I know one thing. Given that pit bulls do most of the attacks here in my area, I pay much more attention to a pit bull running loose than I do, say a Golden Retriever. So if someone accused me of being prejudiced when it comes to pit bulls, they would of course be right. But that is what intelligence should yield, right? Stupidity comes with potential costs I am not willing to indulge. At least not in order to have others perceive I have no prejudice against pit bulls.

 

He apparently never heard of Hawaii or Massachuttes

But some, according to stats, as a percentage of our population are more apt to commit crime. Probably a cultural thing as people are not bred like some dog breeds to be aggressive towards other dogs, like american pit bull terriers.
