President Trump's smiles

I have often defended President Trump--he is frequently the object of scurrilous (and baseless) charges by the left wing (who still cannot accept that he is actually president)--but I do have to wonder just why he can manage no more than a sort of half-smile (in fact, almost a smirk).

Have others noticed this also?

 

He is serious about running the nation, it is not a joke to him so he doesn't smile often unlike Obama who didn't take his job seriously and was smiling from ear to ear every day over who knows what.

 

Don't CARE if he smiles, sneers, grins, half-smiles etc. has long he keeps doing his job, upsetting liberals is a plus....

That's obviously not true.

He will certainly be regarded as the worst President in modern times, possibly the worst in history.

And that's saying something, since George W Bush started a war in the wrong country, bungled it, and ignited a specualtive boom that resulted in the worst economic collapse in world history since 1929.

Trump is working hard to top that.

His focus is not on the nation's problems or world leadership. He doesn't understand these things and doesn't care about them.

He cares about television, and specifically Fox television.

Everything he does is aimed at entertaining and validating that audience.

He does nothing else.

Amazing economy, world peace, prosperity, growing manufacturing sector, growing incomes, campaign promises made, campaign promises kept... that's what the voters love. Oh, lest we forget, the Russia collusion hoax is exposed and is over - the perfect layup for Trump's second term.

Which is why the price of freedom is constant vigilance because fascist scum like the BLOTUS are always around and will take any and every opportunity they can to seize power for themselves.

 

Trump inherited the economy he stands in front of and brags about. Manufacturing has not been the cored of the US economy since 1955. Nostalgia for an imaginary past when many Americans have high paying low skill union factory jobs (only in the Trump vision, there is no union). Incomes are growing, again because of a boom Trump inherited.

Bush was re elected before most Americans finally realized that his war really was a disaster, and that he had bungled it.

And he was not "comfortably" re elected. He had the assistance of an extraordinarally bad Democratic campaign ,and the constant fear mongering of right wing media. Even with those heawinds, he won one of the narrowest reelections of any incumbent President.

Many of my friends and a few of my relatives like him (some adore him)...and we get along.

Try not to get too worked up. I'm just expressing my feelings. If you are "insulted" by them...a political forum is probably not the place to be at this time in our history.

 

I don't think he is going to do those thing...and I also do not think he is going to grow a mustache like Hitler had...nor appear bald like Mussolini.

BUT...that does not make the comparisons to both those guys invalid.

In any case, a greater threat to America comes from the people who justify just about everything he does. They resemble the people who justified just about everything Hitler and Mussolini did...

Since the OP is about Trump's smiles I'll say this -- when he smiles it's a great smile. Yes he does smirk with a half smile sometimes but that has to do with facial construction, muscles, and feelings. There are those who wear a constant smile and those who never smile. An good observer of people and personalities will always look beyond facial construction.
