Here's one that comes to mind: The report that Trump tried to fire Mueller, that one obviously didn't pan out. Or remember the one where Comey was supposed to drop the MOAB on Trump?

I recall stories saying that Trump wanted to fire Mueller but he was talked out of it. And I haven't seen anything to disprove that story.

 

Specifically, it was said that his lawyer would otherwise quit. But given a lack of confirmation from the WH or any statement, we're left to take the newsletter at its word. As far as the Comey thing, I don't remember exactly(because he gave a lot of testimony at several points of the past two years), but it was around the time of his published 'memos' to his college friend where they thought Comey was going to unleash damning testimony.
