The president has advisors. He's only as good as them. Any president.

Here's my prediction. Within ten years, we will be signing our land and homes over to the federal government to allow them to use for collateral for loans from China to pay for the new green monster(deal). The dems will elect a dictatorial puppet of the most wealthy, thinking that the person will give them all they want.

    I'll try a different approach.
Is it possible the 2020 Democratic nominee will get fewer votes than Hillary in 2016? Yes it is.
There was passion to get a female President. That's gone if they nominate a man.
There was passion to get Bill back in the White House. That's gone if they nominate anyone but Hillary.
There was a familiarity with her versus the unknown. This time the Democrat might be the unknown.
The third option was a pair of qualified Republicans. This time it might be a pair of qualified Democrats.
Is it possible Trump will get more votes than in 2016? Yes it is.
    He is no longer underqualified.
The fear of how radical things might get is decreasing.
As above, the third possible vote-from a conservative perspective-may be less acceptable than the second. In other words 3 million Gary Johnson voters are within reach.

The Dem candidate will get ten to fifteen more than Hillary and even more than that than Trump.

We'll see, they haven't been even nominated yet so this is all conjecture.

In recent memory, the last two one-term presidents we've had are Carter (1977-1981); and, Bush41 (1989-1993). Since Clinton in 1992, every candidate since has won two terms (Clinton, Bush43, Obama). It remains to be seen if this re-occurring trend continues. Wish there was a way to change the law and just allow one term presidencies for five (5) years only.

You need to convince people that good things are going to happen if they throw Trump out. Other than not having Trump around, I don't really know what that is.

Personally, I am voting for whoever has a concrete plan to reduce the national debt. If no one, I will write in Rand Paul.

I also think the Dems have no one who has both real world experience of success and charisma. Most of them are career pols and whiners, constantly apologizing.

Buttagieg may be an exception, but he looks and sounds weak. I think Trump will roll over him.

If you think about other candidates.. is there any who's not smarter than Trump? Take your time and think carefully. Those who still think that Trump is Very Stable Genius, c'mon.. xD

When I look at Trump, how he speak and behave... real world experience and charisma isn't what I think of, it's something else. Bragging and lying all the time. I'm pretty sure he's most incompetent president so far. My advice is that elect someone with academic background (after Trump, he can still win again). Trump like to watch TV and don't like to read (one pager guy, you know) - if that's not alarming, please wake up.

I don't think Biden is smarter. I don't think Booker is smarter. I don't think Castro, Gillibrand, or O'Rourke (sorry, I mean SeƱor Beto:rolleyes:) are smarter. Warren thinks she's smarter than everybody, but I think she's an idiot.

Everybody is smart in one way or another. I sense that you think Trump is stupid. I don't see that at all, and don't think he could have had any success in business if he were.

No, you wake up. People like you thought he was going to start WW3 and tank the economy. You were just sure of it.

There was nothing anti semitic about her comments, just because you are anti israel does not mean you are anti-semitic. The best boss I ever had was a jew and I can't stand Isreal.

And she is elected by her constituents, if they find her troubling they won't re-elect her. Till then she is just a divergent opinion. I am not threatened by other peoples opinions. The far right and the far left should be listened to.
Just because her version of what makes America great is different from ours does not make her anti-american.

    Good point!

Does the extreme rightwing realize that she is just a reflection of themselves from the opposite side of the aisle?

presuming everyone in this country is pro-america is stupid... could explain why the left keeps supporting & defending anti-american politicians such as omar

    You are missing the point.

Those on the left can argue that white nationalism is anti-american and that they are defending anti-american politicians like your BLOTUS.

Just because people have differing visions for America does not make either side anti-american.

    ISIS is anti-american.

Omar is an American citizen whose vision for our nation is different to those on the extreme rightwing.

Ultimately the MIDDLE GROUND prevails when it comes to what America ends up being. The extremes are largely ignored for just being too far away from the middle to matter.

Who is the extreme rightwing, white supremacists? If so, how many are in congress and would you feel the same about them making the same type of extremist statements? And I know the answer, I just want to see what you will say and I'm not sure this woman is far leftwing, she seems like she is just a democrat of today.

Just read the anti-Muslim, anti-gay, anti-women and anti-liberal slurs from members of the GOP and that is how you can identify them for yourself.

If you need an example to get you started there is Rep Steve King but he is far from being the only one.

Show me quotes where he made racist statements. I've seen the smear job by the NYT but that is just typical leftwing SOP. This woman has racist quotes. Give me actually quotes, not smearing and innuendo. This woman is a racist and you are defending her.

Since I opened this train of thought, i'll interrupt. No she is not the far left politically. she is on the far left of the democrat party. White supremacists are the far right, they are not the far right of the republican party. There are no active members of the John Birch society or the KKK sitting in congress nor are they maxists sitting in congress.
Worldwide the beliefs of mainstream democrats are considered conservative, with republicans being even more conservative. The progressive movement today is in reaction to the drift of the country to the right over the last 30 years which culminated with the tea party 10 years ago.
