Not reading or understanding anything is the polar opposite of "saving liberty".

Our Founding Fathers were well educated and insightful. They would be ashamed of how the GOP is legislating via ideology and ignorance.

I am discussing their responses. I counsel you to focus on the OP and leave off personality.

    Wow! You looked it up!

They would address it while sitting in closed session. Case closed.

The subpoena will be upheld and then Trump will claim executive privilege, which may or may not be upheld in court.

..and then what? They can't publicly disclose any of it, therefore it goes no where. No case to close.

    *LOL*

You have a very short memory, or maybe you don't read through threads before posting.

Either way, I've cited to it and posted it a number of times.

Once again, you've fallen into the pit of covfefe by failing to do your research before posting.

Yes ... I'm sure I'm wrong, and the IRS immediately released the returns ... and we're foolishly debating the fake news about the IRS refusal.

Why don't you take the time to refute the post that you quoted.

That's statutory interpretation 101. Look it up.

If the IRS refuses, they'll be violating the law, and will be forced to turn the returns over.

Surely, a good Republican doesn't believe that governmental bureaucrats are always correct. *LOL*

Let's look at what IRS says.

Upheld by the SCOTUS that (D)'s need to "stack" because of Trump's corrupt appointees? Why would anyone have any reason to believe that?

The US treasury department will not comply with a deadline set by Democratic legislators to hand over Donald Trump’s tax returns, the secretary of the treasury Steve Mnuchin announced.

“The committee requests the materials by April 10, but the treasury department will not complete its review of your request by that date,” Mnuchin wrote in a letter to Ways and Means Committee chairman Richard Neal.

In his letter, Mnuchin cited concerns over “an abuse of authority” and wrote that the law cited in Neal’s request could not be used “for purposes of embarrassing or attacking political figures of another party”.

Sad when even government officials get its political only.

You just finished stating you don't attack posters, yet here you are doing just that. I've made more citations here than anyone. You're just afraid of what I posted. Seem to be losing multiple arguments at the same time. awesome.

Say what? You persist in including their names Jake. Counsel me you say? I could have simply reported you. Tell you what............. Thanks Jake for essentially counselling me and I will do that then.

Telling the truth is not attacking anyone. Stop making things up and cite. Your citations do not protect Trump from a subpoena for his tax returns. You cannot show that anywhere.
