How can anyone claim that CO2 is the global temperature control knob when in the present Holocene (and throughout global natural history) there have been 10 warming and cooling periods half of which have greater rates of temperature increase and higher peak temperatures at constant CO2 concentration than the current warming period ???

 

The real hockey stick is the human progress resulting from the implementation of the concentrated energy in fossil fuels. Global warming alarmists want to end that progress.

There’s a lot of dependence by deniers on the word of a few people with
impressive credentials...but it’s all the wrong rabbit hole. Scientific legitimacy comes at the end consensus not before it. Einstein, Newton and a host of others are relevant only because the many that came after who tried to prove them wrong, say they are. It’s not embarrassing youreself to say Newton who was deeply religious got a few things wrong too, but to say entire institutions and the many that agree are also complicit in some far left conspiracy, is borderline dillusional.

Actually...that would be what science and climate modelling say. I doubt any of our elementary schools paid much heed at the time.

 

Science doesn’t say that global average temperature increases and decreases as CO2 concentration increases and decreases. The historical record shows no correlation. Climate modeling shows a dependency because of the way the modeling algorithms are constructed.
