They should be called pro-birth, not pro life and definitely not pro quality of life — it’s a misnomer. We are talking SNAP benefits, which I said is generous enough already for a family of 4 if they have access to a supermarket and do not have to rely on 7-11s for their caloric intake. How is a program that provides transportation to and from a supermarket where only these groceries are purchased (not netflix/ cell phones or a restaurant) wrong?

I would think someone with your opinion of the poor would welcome my proposal that at least allows the good well meaning parents access to a means to get more value for the money that we provided them to be misplaced.

I'm not asking that EVERYTHING be given to anyone free. I am asking that EVERYONE have sufficient without "earning a living."

We can do it. And if we cannot do it with our present system...we either make adjustments to the system...or put in an entirely new system.

WE DO NOT NEED EVERYONE WORKING...and the lazy and incompetent should not be forced to word, because they harm productivity. We actually have less to go around by forcing people who are lazy and incompetent to work in order to stay alive.

And...the people who work should have more. Much more, in fact.

Yeah, for some...the idea of having sufficient without having to work makes no sense.

But for those same people, the idea of working multiple jobs and barely be able to make ends meet...DOES MAKE SENSE.

I know we are talking about SNAP and my response is for both you and Frank. SNAP is a scam. That's all it is. A scam on taxpayers. There is NO ONE in this country that needs free food. There are people in this country that just lay around on their asses and get enough free stuff (aka taxpayer's money....you know, from people that work). I don't care if they lay on their asses but I don't want to pay for it. Have you ever been out of the country? I suggest you go to Ukraine. The average teacher's salary there is about $350/month. People that make $500-600 dollars a month there are the exception. And you're talking busing these lazy sob's to Walmart so they will spend free money more wisely? It's free, they don't give a ****. I met a guy from Houston that moved to Ukraine and opened a restaurant. I asked him how those people made it. He told me they were survivors. They don't waste their money....they spend their money on essentials like food and housing instead of drugs and bullshit. If they don't have SNAP there we damn sure don't need it here.

My opinion of the 'poor' is that they aren't friggin poor. I can show you poor but it's not in this country...if you're poor here, you chose to be that way.

Yeah..."the poor" are jerks for not being smart enough to be born into circumstances that mitigate against remaining poor. Only way to handle them is the American conservative way: Kick 'em as hard and often as you can...and if they do not shape up, let 'em die.

Yeah, and it's not even "only in America" attitude, we have people like that in Finland saying: "if you don't have job, you're fool and/or lazy". Still, I have to say, we have some lazy people too and I bet, we can't find any country without any lazy people. If we punish every poor people by being poor, well.. that's just bad, really bad. By doing so we throw away every bit of decency and empathy.

There is multiple reasons why people aren't in workforce and some cases society should take care of those and stop kicking asses.

When country (whatever it is) is only for the rich and rest are like puppets (resource) with illusion of freedom (as long as they feel freedom, everything is ok and rich can maintain peace).
