By 'get into college' do you mean ANY college, or the student's first choice of university?

Also, you're not going to be able to locate statistics that say, "269 white and Asian students were not admitted to our college this year so we could offer enrollment to 269 lesser-qualified black students." No school, police or fire department or any public agency will publish such statistics.

What you will find is universities with an AA plan in place will admit minorities over better qualified Asian and white students, leaving these white and Asian students their second choice of colleges to attend.

How many? I'll have to assume that virtually every minority who is accepted at a university with an AA plan in place or hired as a police officer, firefighter, doctor or anything else was selected over a better qualified candidate for racist and political reasoning...

Yep, this is what leftists bring us as a society, where we can no longer assume public agencies and universities only accept the best qualified people. Where a well qualified minority has no recourse over how teachers, peers and supervisors might view them, assuming they are AA candidates.

Fortunately, standards in academia and most police academies and medical schools and the like have not been reduced where unqualified people are staffing jobs or graduating. Plenty flunk out and fail, of course, among all ethnicities, adding to the cost to taxpayers.

And leftists will say this is a success. But it is simply racism, where someone with the right skin color – as government see's it – is provided advantages over someone with the wrong skin color...

And you never commented how government agencies conceal statistics on AA.

Hahahaha yes, blame the leftists for your ignorant views. So much for personal responsibility.

It’s weak to not call out people who make ignorant statements.

Of course I'll blame leftists for racist government discrimination against people for having the wrong skin color.

And plenty of qualified minorities resent AA, as they realize many liberals/progressives/socialists as well as everyone else will consider them inferior in that they only gained their place because of AA. POC who are friends remark on this all the time.

In fact, they hate the way white liberals/progressives/socialists talk down to them:

“White liberals may unwittingly draw on negative stereotypes, dumbing themselves down in a likely well-meaning, ‘folksy,’ but ultimately patronizing, attempt to connect with the outgroup,” argues the paper, titled “Self-Presentation in Interracial Settings: The Competence Downshift by White Liberals.”

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...le-new-study-contends/?utm_term=.f2ee32eaa40c

It seems leftists who live in an echo chamber, perhaps, are ignorant in their own right?

I have that problem of unwittingly talking down to conservatives. But then, I can't exactly talk up to them. I find your irrational dislike of person with dark skin rather odd. Assuming your arguments have some validity to them, the 269 white students that you are crying about are the ones on the bottom of the list. Bottom of the barrel. They were likely to drop out anyway.

And why do you care? I thought conservatives hated colleges?

Unfortunately, that is pretty accurate. I've seen incompetence hired and tolerated because of federal minority preference guidelines many times too, costing agencies and businesses a substantial expense and loss of efficiency, under the illusion that it was "fair". Nobody wins when such things happen.

Fortunately, I'm a bit older and I'm not attempting to become a police officer, firefighter or university student, so being white isn't a burden as it is for young people who must compete for jobs and university openings against lower qualified POC. But thanks for thinking of me...

Why do you believe I dislike people with dark skin? What I do despise is a government and leftists discriminating against people with what they consider the wrong skin tone.

But this is typical of leftists, this use of identity politics and their intersectionality nonsense.

And why would you believe the 269 white or Asian students, with better SAT scores and higher GPAs than the POC who replaced them, would flunk out? We're well aware that many POC AA students do, indeed, flunk out as they were unqualified for the rigors of the university they sought.

    Try again...

Not a burden for the many white guys I know who've recently become police officers and firemen. And every white kid I've coached over the last 19 years has never had a problem getting into college. Neither have any of my friends' kids.

There's no evidence that positive discrimination has reduced white representation in higher education. Of course that's an obvious statement! There is evidence that black representation has seen a marginal shift upwards. However, the focus is on representation in the most selective establishment (e.g. "race‐neutral admissions are predicted to decrease minority representation at the most selective 4‐year institutions by 10%" Howells, 2010, Assessing the Impact of Eliminating Affirmative Action in Higher Education, Journal of Labor Economics, Vol 28: 113-166)

Guess we agree on something then. Most of your responses have been trollish 1 sentence quips that didn't include, "AA is wrong". Sorry I missed it. CHECK THAT...went back and looked and you never said stated anything of the sort until this post. You just posted over and over again about needed stats to prove white kids can't get into college. And by that logic, black kids have never been turned down either, since after a quick Google, there are many Universities that have a rich African American history and catered to black people for well over 100 yrs. So, guess what? Nothing ever stopped black people from going to college either...in recent history.

More like, your thought process doesn't go deeper than that....hence the trolling. I'm believing more and more you're a Russian plant, because you're checking all the boxes. Joe Rogan had someone on recently that has been studying it for a number of years. You're fitting the profile to a tee. hmmmmmm.

It's called being concise. Some people like to hear themselves speak such as yourself. Whereas I get to the point. But feel free to carry on about this whole Russian plant idea. It's funny stuff.

Again, I'll ask the question you ignored previously:

Did these kids get in their first choice of schools, or did they settle for a safety school?

Also, are you coaching students with the grades and SAT scores to attend an Ivy League school? Stanford or a sought after upper tier University of California school such as Berkeley or UCLA?

All were first choice except for one. And his first choice was a long shot as he didn’t really have the grades or scores to get in. I’ve coached kids at all levels...from community college to state school to Ivy League.

I support Affirmative Action for women and minorities. There is severe discrimination against male victims of DV and men accused and presumed guilty. But Affirmative Action is not discrimination.

Likewise, poor and disabled people need and deserve help. That is especially the case for people with mental disability. Depression is not low IQ.

Perhaps. I do not know about other groups, but being Autistic with Depression no jobs are open to me. All underrepresented groups need extra help.

You would fall under a true disability. Your race or skin color isn’t.
