    Hi,

With the election coming up, and none of my preferred parties running in my electorate (Liberal Democrats; Shooters, Fishers & Farmers), I am either going to vote One Nation or draw a very detailed penis over the ballot as a donkey vote.

Given I am a libertarian, despise statism, despise fascism - I'd like to explore the views of One Nation before I commit.

So. Are they fascistic? Some seem to think so. If you do, point to their current policy platform and consistently explain why it makes them fascistic.

If your standard makes a majority of Australians out to be fascists, or a majority of developed democratic Asian nations - it would suggest your standard is flawed.

    Thanks. Convince me either way.

I'm happy to start and suggest a standard.

Fasciam is a third way between labor-employer mediation as practiced by classical liberals and socialists.

Instead of letting employers and employees voluntarily negotiate as classical liberal types suggest, or having industry wide labor unions which collectively bargain as democratic socialist types suggest, fascism subordinates both labor and management under the state.

It is characterised by large scale collusion between state and corporations. State aligned cartels are established in most industries. Economic freedom is heavily curtailed, collective bargaining is not permitted.

Authoritarian ethnonationalism sums it up pretty well. Socialism for the state race, deportation or genocide for most everyone else. Suppression at a minimum. Nationalism is not desired, the second the movement can go international it will.

Unemployment is eliminated with artificial state jobs.

Powers of states are eliminated. All power is held centrally.

Benefits for workers may or may not be generous depending on the specifics of the regime.

I don't know about Australian politics so I can't answer directly, but I know a surefire way for you to answer your own question.

Look at what fascists have to say about them. Actual fascists. They're not especially hard to find on the Internet. Find your local Stormfront or Daily Stormer equivalent and search for "One Nation". You can even post on their forums à la "I support One Nation, what do you think about them?".

Will you see support for the party, or will you see a reaction similar to what the California synagogue shooter had to say when asked about Trump :

Then you'll have your answer, directly from the horse's mouth.

I agree, but they could be playing peaceful now while they are small so they can play rough when they have more power.

Then again, in some ways they support a more robust democracy than the major parties - they support citizen initiated referenda for instance.

Well I doubt we have to worry about One nation... the Leftwingers (likely Getup) have set them up with at least two "sting" operations (NRA & Strip club) and One Nation seem unlikely to do well at the polls.

As for all the labelling, in my opinion it has now become so overused and incorrectly overused that it diminished what it means to call someone a "Hitler, Fascist, Racist, Sexist, Misogynist" because almost half the population at some point, have been called Hitlers, racists, fascists, sexists, ..x... enter label here

If I hear any of these labels my first thought is...curiosity "what did he/she say that they would want to shut them up via labelling"

It's a money-making scam for a few people, not a bloody party at all.

They should throw a rave, then it'd be a party. And whoa boy what a party!
