They may have agreed until the exceptions for rape and incest were struck from the law. Now, it's a much smaller percentage.
And out-of-state money DOES impact local elections. And out-of-state business and commerce DOES impact Alabama.

What your missing is the fact that the pro-life movement is also a movement of women. Most men that aren't that concerned with politics really don't care, it is women who have strong beliefs one way or the other. Personally, I think that it should be legal and each state should regulate it as they desire whether that is as you wish or unthinkable beyond a few exceptions. As far as the issue itself, once a child is conceived, it as a living being with potential and intentionally taking away that potential is for all intents and purposes equivalent to murder. On the flip side, pregnancy is a very damaging condition for women that can have huge detrimental impacts on their health besides the obvious impacts on the future. As in most cultural matters, the federal government should not take sides, the farther down the ladder you can legislate the issue the closer that legislation will reflect the desires of the constituency it will affect.

 

Of course, but that doesn't mean that I'm wrong nor does it mean that I can't have an opinion. And you f*cking know that.

I find it ironic as hell, that the same people who constantly claim that they want the government out of their lives, want government in the sex lives of everyone else, on the idea that somehow, this makes them prolife. They are not prolife - once born, we're back tot he same old tire bullsh*t of no government involvement in health care, no government involvement in education, nothing, zip, nada. They really aren't prolife - they're probirth. After that, poor baby's on their own.

We have the right not to be punished for the actions of another - as per the rule of law - and equal justice under the law.

Forcing one person to be responsible for the financial consequences of a unilateral decision to carry an unintended pregnancy to term violates those rights. It is the Gov'ts job to protect our rights.
