They should. ALL Presidents should have to prove they are not at risk for personal blackmail from financial exposure - especially in regards to foreign banks and lenders. I wouldn't want to find out that a President had $200 million in loans to Saudi sources and then gave the Saudis special political favors.

You can't know that if Trump is not being transparent with his finances. And there is plenty of past information to indicate that Trump has used foreign money to back his investments.

Maybe don't give the party nomination to a completely unqualified, demonstrably dumb, unnecessarily brash jackass next time.

Wonder if people like AOC, Sanders, & Warren approve of this since they are all ‘anti-bank.’

    - And Jesus went into the Temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers ...and said unto them, it is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves ...

So, you are against privacy and you want partisan judges and politicians to continue to investigate their foe until they find something?

    WTF?

There's no "reason to suspect" other than you and your ilk hate Trump and hate is not a reason to investigate.

If anyone is under the complete delusion that a President is a "private" citizen, they are seriously living under a rock. We don't let CEOs and Board Members trade their own stock without over sight - why would you think the country's CEO (President) should be able to hide potential conflicts of interest in the government's affairs? Hell, Republicans forced Jimmy Carter to disclose everything about his peanut farm because they felt it could represent a conflict of interest with his role as the ultimate boss of the Department of Agriculture. Does Trump get a complete pass on any transparency because he's Trump?

Through all the problem Wells-Fargo has been through these past few years I have kept several substantial accounts open with them. That they would release a persons private financial information without first allowing the person to respond and file a possible injunction is outrageous. This is not even law enforcement, this is a Congressional inquiery. What happened to protections against unreasonable search and seizures and probable cause.

All you leftist and anti-Trumpers what if it was YOU some government body wanted your information and had no probable cause of a crime, no allegation of a crime they just wanted to go through it and try to find a crime?

This might be the straw that breaks the camels back for me. Regions here I come.

Hey let's send the police over to your home and have the search it and have your local city counsel get your banking records so they can all see what they can find.

I mean what do you have to hide?

And that is my problem, why didn't Wells-Fargo alert the person whose records they were turning over so they had a chance to file such a motion.

Really? Where can I find Nadler's and Pelosi's and Schummer's. Have all the Democrat candidates released ALL their banking and financial records yet?

Sorry, but people with top secret security clearances DO give up the right to much of their privacy. Hell, I remember the background checks that I went through just to get on NASA property for contract work. It's just fantasy land to think that a President is going to have special exemptions.

Have you ever heard the term probable cause and signed off by a judge? What is the check and balance on these congressional subpoenas to insure they are not unreasonable search and seizures?

Potuses generally put their money with advisors who then invest the money without telling the potus where, so issues of "influence" and "transparency" don't arise.

Obama just put his money in treasuries. But he was not as wealthy as the two bushes.

With Slick, he also was not very wealthy, nor did he make the claim. But congress got his financial in White Water.

If you don't think a President signs off on expecting any kind of privacy when he volunteers to run for President, then you are seriously kidding yourself.
