Another BS pronouncement. It was not "founded to lay rules on workers". Unions came into existence to enable workers to bargain together as one side and capitalists on the other. As with any organization there are rules but that is not WHY unions were founded...it's part of what makes them work If that's the case there is no point in even mentioning socialism because that is obviously not the case here or pretty much anywhere outside of China and NK...and arguably not even China
Nonsense. We all seem to agree that we do not have a pure capitalist system (nor would we want to). And what "adulterates" it is .....socialism... It's not a question of IF we want a socialist system...if we're being honest (and you folks are not being so) then it becomes a question of how MUCH socialism we require to mitigate the excesses of capitalism
It was a statement of fact. Calm down. You continue with drivel. I'm not an American, nor do I confuse socialism and "communism". Communism represents a historical development end of capitalism. Its just irrelevant to what I've said and you've rambled incoherently. Utter drivel. You are just peddling the same ole guff that socialist political economy refers to the economic spectrum. It is ignorant. Learn some basics first please.
I paid dues to the CWA. Local 34 pilebutts and worked at GM where we had rules laid down to us by unions. I said that the other function was to bargain. By you admitting it is what makes them work, you admit I am accurate.
Laissez faire is neither achievable or desirable. To then say the outcome is "partially socialist" is pathetic. What amuses me about American ignorance about socialism, mind you, is that right wingers say the same crap as the left wingers. Its as if they share the same ignorance.
George Washington along with presidents down to Wilson believed in Capitalism. I doubt this was even argued by Abraham Lincoln.
You get the Captain Obvious Award. I also believe in capitalism. I am honest enough and smart enough to understand that we need a healthy dose of socialism mixed with it in order to make it work properly
That isn't honest or smart. There is no mix. You're confusing yourself with the likes of liberal democracy. It isn't cunning.
Some wealth disparity is normal in any society, but our has gradually become extreme. When economic disparity becomes extreme in any society, that society gradually becomes unstable, and violent demonstrations mark the beginnings of far more severe actions & events that challenge the fabric of that society. Sometimes revolutions result, and no one can ever predict the outcome of a revolution. We are on the cusp of that cavalcade. We need to soften the disparity, and do so ASAP, before Americans resort to mob mentality.
Pure, unrestricted, unregulated capitalism is equal to the worst economic system imaginable. Your post argues for the continuance of the tyranny of the minority, & that minority is the ultra-wealthy 2%. Eventually, Americans will wake up to the facts & demand change. I hope it comes soon enough to avoid the violence.
When do you allege America abandoned Capitalism? Also do you believe America adopted socialism and if so, when was that?
And exactly what the hell are al those guys in the Army,Navy and Air force and Marines and the BILLIONS we spend on ships, aircraft and munitions for???Are we socialist???
You seem incapable of replying. Here's what you have to critique: "Laissez faire is neither achievable or desirable. To then say the outcome is "partially socialist" is pathetic. What amuses me about American ignorance about socialism, mind you, is that right wingers say the same crap as the left wingers. Its as if they share the same ignorance." Good luck!
Gotta love when a group of fake Marxist, the most I'll informed group of true believers, forms a circular firing squad. It is pure comedy gold!
I am suggesting neither. I am saying America has cuddled & protected capitalism to the point of its becoming an economic monster who cripples the vast majority of Americans by forcing them into lives of economic struggle & pain & limited opportunity, while rewarding & protecting the ultra-rich in all manners of ways. America NEEDS to adopt more socialist ideas.
I’m trying to figure out why I want to be further involved with something that even self proclaimed socialist can’t seem to agree on or implement on their own. Seems arguing about it beats practicing it for most. I’d like to see one lay out exactly what they believe as it would apply practically to reality.
The smile for me is all the theory with no practical application. Forgive me if I’m remembering incorrectly, but aren’t you the socialist business owner with employees?
