I'm not sure where this hypothetical came from, it isn't the same as the Iraq/Kuwait problem. Saddam needed money so he invaded his neighbor to get their oil fields. It was an act of aggression. Now that's your cue to tell me how we stole Iraq's oil which was our whole purpose for the invasion.

The US has demonstrated nothing but contempt for the concept of national sovereignty, so I would be surprised if they didn't ignore it.

You are aware that the US government has aggressively violated the sovereignty of dozens of countries throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, right?

You are aware that the only reason the US government is even inside Iraq is because the US military invaded and destroyed Iraq based on lies, right?

The US didn't pull out because the Iraqi government requested it. The US pulled out because the war was a dismal failure that Americans were sick and tired of. Hillary Clinton lost the presidential election in large part because she voted for that war. Politically speaking, US military presence in Iraq is a huge liability. And that is why the US withdrew. The idea that the US did so out of respect for Iraqi sovereignty is the height of naiveté.

Iraq wasn't destroyed, a despot was unseated. The world is a better place without him and his progeny. If Iraq demands that we leave, again, we should do so and ignore their cries for help when they are once again threatened.

I question your understanding of the words "Iraq", "wasn't", and "destroyed".

A despot the US helped put into power.

No it isn't. The world is a much, much worse place.

Thousands of Americans are dead or severely wounded.

Trillions of our dollars were wasted.

And Iraq became a failed state full of chaos and violence.

According to any reasonable standard, the Iraq war was a historic disaster. Even Trump agrees.

The US should have ignored Iraq to begin with. Then we wouldn't have gotten into this mess in the first place.

But I thought they had it all worked out now, Yankee go home and all that stuff. You say they're a mess? Maybe we should stick around a while?

OK, time to see a different perspective. The only people who will benefit from a American war with Iran are the Russians from the increase in the price of oil.

I think they say in this that both the American and Israeli Military do not believe a war with Iran can be won. I have heard this several times of the Israeli military and once before on the American. Enjoy

This hasn’t crossed my mind when I was voting. I seriously doubt most of the people who voted for trump did so because Hillary voted for the war in Iraq.

You mean like Saddam Hussein when he invaded his neighbors
Or Egypt, Syria and Jordan when they invaded Israel multiple times.

    Or, or, or, or.....

The evidence supports the theory that Hillary was negatively impacted by her support for the war in Iraq.

Once again, from where? Give us a link to the large number of Kuwaiti oil rigs right up against the border. Because as I already pointed out, lat that time they could only slant drill about 2 miles. 2 miles. Not hundreds, not even dozens (or even dozen, we still can not do that even today).

Well let me know when you actually demonstrate your point with something resembling a logical argument.

You accused the US of not respecting national sovereignty. Well the fact of the matter is when you become a threat to other nations or your own people you lose the right to sovereignty and America is largely the only entity willing and able to intervene.

So you are saying that the US has lost the right to sovereignty then.

Except to all the countries we have invaded, or destabilized by placing a dictator in power, or caused the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians. Of course.

Communists are allowed to slaughter millions. Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, the Kim family, they have been ignoring that for decades.

It is only when you are not a Communist and you kill somebody that they get upset.

Yeah...you do. In the 20th century, governments were responsible for 250-350 million deaths. That includes the US. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq. America has been killing people for the vast majority of it's existence.

    Who are "they"?

I don't care what government it is, they always kill Innocents, even the US. If you deny this, then your moniker is well earned.

Pol Pot's murder spree is a direct result of the US abandoning South Vietnam.
We are damn lucky it didn't happen in Thailand as well.

When your indoctrinated into believing that the "ruling class" owes you, you can easily justify anything you want as long as it's against "the rich"
