If Congress can't impeach a president for getting his thingy sucked in the White House and lie under oath about it, Congress have no chance with Mueller's report.

This lefty impeachment dream is.............a dream. Sorry, they need to wake up, they've wasted two years of their lives. They just need to accept that you can't overturn a democratic vote just because they don't like the guy. Hopefully the roots to the attempted coup not only get investigated, but certain people from the Obama administration and agencies get their comeuppance.

I thought Lefties said we are suppose to accept the Mueller report without question. Now the truth comes out, they have determined Trump has committed a crime and they will investigate until they find one, if not they will harass him and everyone connected to him. I don't really believe the golf total, on average Trump and Obama look to have spent between 15-20 million per year on travel/vacations. I'll give your side/team credit Ovomit may have spent less than Trump once the final numbers come in after 8 years of Trump, but this 100 million in 2 years doesn't jive with actual Air Force and Secret Service records. Trumps first year according to those same records had him under the 11 million at the end of 2017. So going by your numbers he would've spent over 80 million in 2018 alone. Even the biggest Trump hating leftist with full blown TDS whose first name is Hillary would say they don't believe he blew 80 million on that in 1 year. So you can throw your different hate Trump websites/sources out there I will wait for the actual Air Force and Secret Service records.

She's in a tough spot. She knows impeachment is dud, but her insane leftist friends are frothing at the mouth and ready to go.

 

The report is biased trash, written by 17 libs that donated to Hillary. Many of them were at Hillary's election night party that turned into a wake.

Impeachment hearings would normally be sourced in the Judiciary Committee, so that is where it will be heard.

I think it’s Select Committee time.

Impeachment needs to be sold. And the first part of doing that is undoing the very slick and clever campaign that Trump and Barr worked out, and exposing its dishonesty in such a way the even the man in the street can’t help but see it for the big lie that it was.

Durning the Watergate scandal, this is how it was done. Congress appointed a select committee. It was bi partisan then. It would be nice to do that now, but unlikely.

All this committee needs to do is put the Mueller Report in front of the television cameras, day after day, page after page.

And, it would be preferable if Mueller himself led the presentation. The Committee could easily accommodate Mueller’s wish to confine his remarks to the report itself. There’s more than enough in the report to do the job.

The prevention can be periodically interrupted by having the cast of characters subpoenaed and put on the stand and in front of the cameras to answer the Committee’s questions.

Right now, Trump is busy ordering flunkies to ignore subpoenas and not testify or produce documents. He has no legal authority to do so. That matter must be adjudicated on the courts. We can either wait for that, or pursue it concurrently.

We can use up the remainder of 2019 on that, and push the possibility of impeachment into 2020, so it becomes the soundtrack of Trump’s re election campaign.

From a strictly political standpoint, voting Trump out and moving on is the easiest thing.

But neither Trump, nor any other president must be allowed to hijack Congressional authority for any purpose. Trump is an idiot and a clown. But the next guy will use the presidents that Trump is setting to make it that much easier to seize power.

We have seen Trump build a powerful cult of personality, one of the core tools of fascism. And we have seen ordinarily patriotic Americans cheer for a wannabe dictator who sees himself as a king.

This is not the American way. But it is how democracy dies.

Saying he's involved in a cover-up and she'd like to see him in prison ISN'T a personal attack. The first one is a fact, the second is a possible outcome of the first.

The Democratic house cannot do much of anything as long as it gets bottled up by Mitch McConnell (who knows how to say no), and Trump.

 

Most of that works for me, but I don't think you need a Select Committee, since it wouldn't be bi-partisan all all... Just let the current Judiciary Committee start the work it was designed to do.

Monday's effort is clearly designed to get the Mueller report out to the public, using a "witness" like John Dean to give it context, as in "this stuff is WAY worse than even Nixon and I did"

Monday doesn't have to be called the start of an impeachment hearing, yet it clearly is...
