    How is it a spin exactly? This revelation, if true, suggests that Trump might have tacked on other things that Mexico had already conceded to so that his tariff threat would appear more successful than it actually was.

    A. They didn't know Mexico agreed to this months ago. The story suggest that hadn't been disclosed yet.
    B. Pretty sure they are criticizing how little we are getting for the significant financial hit that our markets took.

    If this was agreed to "months ago" and it IS a crisis, why wasn't the Mexican military deployed "months ago"? And it STILL doesn't explain why Democrats have done NOTHING to help the crisis. WHY don't they HELP the American people? Do they think Americans are deaf, dumb and blind to their little game? They have time to have show impeachment trials to the detriment of everyone, but they can't do anything constructive. You people are exhausting and insane... NYT really? Not exactly a beacon for truth, justice and the American way...

    That's all his entire presidency has been. Hes achieved things Obama wasnt able to do in a decade and they're pissed.

    This thread is not about wishing failure on Trump.

    It is about Trump creating a crisis (threatening tariffs) that cost the stock market billions, simply in order to claim an achievement that he had apparently accomplished several months previously.

    His lie (threat of tariffs) was completely unnecessary in order to achieve his objective. The only thing it did was wipe billions of value off the stock market and allow him to claim a victory.

    When you get right down to it, that was what he did. He affected the stock market in order to make himself look good. That is way beyond irresponsible.

    Pencil pushers don't lose jobs to illegals. They see themselves as "elite". They get their lawns mowed and children babysat. The threat of opening legal immigration to those with more clerical skills would be a threat to them. That's why they prefer the unskilled masses and despise Donald Trump. When we close the borders and accept merit immigration, then we will watch them sweat.
