Boy, did the GOP overplay their hand on this one. They thought having their guy Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court was cart blanc to unleash a torrent of anti choice laws to eliminate or severely limit a woman's right to chose on the abortion issue. It backfired, big time. Recent polling shows Americans have come out solidly against overturning Roe. A big jump in the numbers.

Only 13% of Americans now favor overturning Roe v. Wade. The remaining 87% favor either keeping the law as is, or modifying it. The incredibly stupid Republican move to deny a woman's right to choose created a firestorm of protest the Court is unlikely to ignore. Giving power to the party of Trump is like giving a three year old a loaded AK-47 for his/her birthday.

I bet many people supported the Dred Scott decision when it was law. And Plessy vs. Ferguson, too.

    That doesn’t make them right.

Giving women yet another reason to get out and vote AGAINST Republicans in 2020 was a really dumb idea IMO.

You mean a constitutional judge instead of a left wing partisan.

Too bad for you that the people can't do anything about it now.

    :)

Roe v. Wade is going away soon whether the people want it or not.

    Nope!

But the GOP will lose ALL moderate women voters which will cost them elected seats nationwide.

You wish judges to be political. I wish them to follow the constitution.

And the people who wrote the Constitution did not intend for abortion to be illegal. It wasn't illegal until the 1860's. And those anti-abortion laws proved to be complete failures - which is why the Court struck them down with their findings in Roe v. Wade.

Why go back to something we know doesn't work.

Why don’t you ask me my stand on abortion?

Get the Federal government out of the abortion business.

Abortion is a states rights issue.

There is a lot more in those numbers than you let on. For instance, support for abortions after the first trimester is almost vanishingly small. A slim majority supports the heart beat bills that are beating a path to SCOTUS. The support for tax payer funding of abortions is nil outside of CA and NYC and third trimester abortions purely as a birth control alternative have even less support.

    Mmmm.... Identity politics....

Democrat sees a woman and thinks... that is a woman, bet she loves abortion, hates trump, and votes Democrats... you know, because she's a woman and that's what they do...

Yeah, well the poll numbers speak for themselves. And it isn’t as if Trump is the sort of person anyone would let their daughter date.

Again, more identity politics. It's like an obsession

Without abortion, all the Republicans have left is complaining about the country not being white enough and fighting for even more tax cuts for the wealthy.

Yes the Republican Party is a minority party that has been cheating its way into power.

    The white man... derp derp...

    And da rich... derp

I guess if the country got "whiter", you would consider that a bad thing? Sounds pretty racist...

Like there is in South. Ever wonder why the South is so corrupt? One party rule. Why West Virginia, Mississippi and half of Louisiana are so poor. Republican rule.

Kindly refrain from any flag waving or reference to the Consitution, freedom or democracy.

You’re endorsing one party rule by a minority party led by a man with facist tendencies who plays at being a dictator.

    Real Americans don’t do that.
