    I served for six years in that God forsaken capital, Sacramento, and the one thing I found most bizarre was the intense focus by my Democrat colleagues on creating agencies and programs that cater to illegal aliens and thus attract even more illegal aliens to California. Such pro-illegal alien policies undermine the hundreds of thousands of legal minorities who work in the service and construction industries, but strangely the biggest boosters of such policies were the Democrat legislators of Hispanic descent. (Reconquista Socialists) It’s as if the entire Hispanic delegation in both houses made a concerted decision to abandon legal Hispanics and to represent only Mexican citizens....

    People keep predicting California's demise and it keeps not happening. How do you square how "awful" things are in California with the fact 1 in 8 Americans is Californian and California's GDP is ranked 5th in the world?

    Democrats justify this because we have a budget surplus. The reason for the surplus is that California's tax base is the "rich". It's been a booming economy with the market up. When the economy is not up, we have huge shortfalls. However, when that goes away, we will STILL have to pay for the medical care for illegal aliens. This is raw stupidity by Democrats, but their way of permanently buying those votes. We now know they are voting in mass with two reports today of Illegals by the 100,000+ getting fake ID and voter cards in Oregon and 900,000+ voted in Texas and other states. This is a power grab by Democrats funded by California taxpayers. It's coming to all blue states soon.

    Wrong not Americans but 1 in 8 of the people living in the USA are living in the totalitarian state of California.


    1/4 of those living in California were not born in America.

    Some years ago it was 1/3 but anchor babies have been added to California's population.

    50% of those living in California don't speak English in the home.

    California use to have the best public school system in America.
    Not any more and is near the bottom.

    California use to have the best roads and highways in America.
    Not any more.

    California use to have low taxes.
    Today California has the highest taxes in the nation.
    The liberals even tax cow farts today.

    California use to be business friendly.
    Today California is rated the worst state to do business in.

    California use to lead the country with personal freedoms...freedom of choice.
    Today California is rated 49th when it comes to freedom.

    Jerry Brown never mentioned it and the California Democrats don't want to mention it.

    You have a funny way to define success. Tent cities, people defecating on the sidewalks, crime committed by illegals, high taxes, diseases that were almost eradicated coming back, people born in CA fleeing the State in droves, water shortages, absurd prices for housing, unfunded public worker pension debt, a BS cap and trade program, this is success. Having a lot of Billionaires is success? You have 1 million Americans leaving every year migrating out of CA. Less than the number of illegals coming in. Soon you will be a State of Rich people living in gated and guarded mansions/communities and poor people living in slums. Your public services will collapse when you default on the pensions for teachers, police, etc. Just don't expect the rest of America to come to the rescue.

    My mom was the Budget Director for HHS and then the Judiciary. She has been raking it in for retirement. I am stunned at the payoff.

    Now, my oldest sister is retiring at the end of this month. She is the Budget Director for CalTrans. She too is getting an amazing retirement.

    I could have been a top bureaucrat, but I want to contribute, not feel like my work is a prison sentence.

    I bugged out of California in my early twenties which was in the very early 70s. All my siblings stayed there and all of them work for the government. It seems like that is most of the employment in that state or at least the best job to get in that state.
