Good job Trump DOJ and AG Barr. people who prey on young children and engage in such child abuse need to be locked up for good and if ever release only under the most restrictive and monitor terms.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department says nearly 1,700 people have been arrested following a two-month crackdown aimed at targeting suspected child predators.

Tuesday's announcement caps the nationwide investigation conducted by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies around the U.S.

Prosecutors said they identified more than 300 people suspected of producing child pornography or committing sexual abuse involving children.

The investigation, nicknamed "Broken Heart," was conducted in April and May. Officials said they investigated more than 18,500 complaints of crimes against children.

Attorney General William Barr vowed to bring "the full force of the law against sexual predators."

Officials say the crackdown targeted suspects who produced or possessed child pornography, who tried to entice children online for sex, traveled to other states or countries to abuse children or engaged in sex trafficking.

Good, the damage done to children by the individuals is life long.

I hope they castrate every single one of them that are directly involved.

The FBI has malware programs, very advanced, that they can send into your computer and unless you are a genius with software you will never know its there.

It's a simple court order, doesn't even take a judge to sign off on I believe.

They simply track what you are looking at.

So these folks names pop up, usually on a site planted by the FBI, they upload the virus to your computer and boom....they have their evidence.

Most people do not have the skill to block this or to properly scrub their computers and phones...thankfully.

What's disturbing though is that there are probably tens of thousands more they could not get enough evidence on to prosecute....YET.

300 were PRODUCING child pornography.

The other 1400 were likely VIEWING it/in POSSESSION of it.

What don't you understand?

It's illegal to view or be in possession of child pornography or to engage in sex with minors.

They arrested the ones creating and distributing it and those that were receiving it.

This isn't rocket science here.

 

I also add that this seems to be a yearly effort by the DOJ, which I applaud..... Not sure why they cannot be on this 24x7x365, but better this than nothing

Chemical castration was what I was referring to however, as it mostly removes sexual desire and it is less barbaric. I also only support it in cases where the individual is 100% guilty, right now the bar is set to low with only a single accusation being made to pretty much guarantee conviction.
