Hitler and the Nazi's, like all political movements had to put up the façade of Christianity to get the support of a Christian country.

yep, I do not support the banning of the flag as it applies to all Americans.... the pledge sadly does not

"f we're gonna change the pledge to be 'uniting', I cant see it being much more than 'I pledge allegiance to liberty and justice for all.'"

we would just be undoing the changes of the McCarthyism era

The discussion about the Holocaust is an off topic distraction intended by Liberals to draw people away from the original focus on Iran. Here is a quote from Wikipedia about the Nazis and Christianity.
"Documents used in evidence at the Nuremberg Trials concluded that the Nazis planned to de-Christainize Germany. A report entitled {The Nazi Master Plan; The Persecution of Christian Churches} prepared by the Office of Strategic Services (forerunner of the American CIA says: {Important leaders of the National Socialist party would have liked complete extirpation of Christianity and the substitution of a purely
    racial religion.}"

"We live in an era of the ultimate conflict with Christianity. It is part of the mission of the SS to give the German people in the next half century the non-Christian ideological foundations on which to lead and shape their lives." Heinrich Himmler 1937.

Again from Wikipedia, "In January 1934, Hitler had appointed Alfred Rosenburg as the cutltural and educational leader of the Reich. Rosenburg was a neo-pagan and notoriously anti-Catholic."
Going on, "During the War, Rosenburg outlined the future envisioned by the Hitler government for religion in Germany, with a thirty point program for the future of the German churches. Among its articles:
the National Reich Church of Germany was to claim exclusive control over all churches; publication of the Bible was to cease; crucifixes, Bibles and saints were to be removed from alters; and Mein Kamph
was to be placed on alters as {to the German nation and therefore to God the most sacred book}: and the Christian Cross was to be removed from all churches and replaced with the swastika."
