While the Democrats dust off John Dean, the Justice Department is going full steam ahead on getting to the bottom of the attempted coup of a duly elected President.

The left-wingers aren't going to take kindly to this.

If they did nothing wrong they have nothing to worry about, right? Something or someone caused the Russia thing to take place, we need to know who and why since it was proven to be a hoax.

Why not? If you cannot backup your work, then you shouldn't be doing it...

    SNIP
The Senate Intelligence Committee has previously interviewed several of the C.I.A. officers the Justice Department is seeking to talk to, according to a person familiar with the matter. The committee found no problems with their work or the origins of the Russia inquiry.

The C.I.A. director, Gina Haspel, has told senior officials that her agency will cooperate — but will still work to protect critical pieces of intelligence whose disclosure could jeopardize sources, reveal collection methods or disclose information provided by allies, according to current and former American officials.

You see that sentence in bold?? Get used to reading that....

    The Papadopoulos setup!!!!!

    This one is really rich!

In the Trumpster fantasy, the imaginary (anonymous) “deep state” knew a year in advance that Trump would be President. So it conspired to have its agents set up one of Trump’s “senior foreign policy advisors” (Trump’s own words), a self important bag man named George Papadopolous.

They enlisted a known Russian cut out to make allegations about how the Russians had hacked the DNC (never mind that that had been confirmed by other sources), and then conspired to get him drunk so he could blab about it to an Australian diplomat.

Somehow, and the AM disc jockeys haven’t invented a story for this yet, they knew that that would happen and that that diplomat would report the incident to the intelligence services.

What’s a man who is up to his ears in debt to Russian oligarchs, is a front man for Russian money launderers, has a man who worked for Moscow running his campaign, and who is offering bribes to the Russian president in order to get a hotel deal in Moscow to do in the face of such duplicity???????

The committee found no problems with their work or the origins of the Russia inquiry.

But I understand the Azra Turk situation was likely an FBI operation, not CIA...

I’m not concerned about it at all.

When our intelligence agencies learn that one US Presidential candidate is regularly talking to people associate with Putin and his intelligence services during a Presidenential campaign, I expect them to be curious and look into it.

That’s their job. And any loyal American would expect them to do that.

And now that Trump has publicly admitted that he was willing to do that, and do it again, there is no doubt that they were justified in investigating.

It takes a special kind of moron to buy the line that there is an imaginary “silent coup” to put Mike Pence in the White House.

Alas, there are a lot of those sorts of people. And Trump counts on them to move their lips before they used their grey matter.

From what I've read, there's a jihad-admiring Commie who used to be a senior official at the CIA who may have something to worry about. We'll see...

Azra Turk is CIA not FBI. There's a lot of explaing to be done about Halper, Turk, and who they were reporting to in May. Comey claimed the FBI didn't receive any intel on Papadopoulos until months after Halper lured Papadopoulos to London ... but ... Bill Priestep, for unknown reasons, went to London in May. Committee has yet to see the Priestep 302's or documents related to Halper. Those docs are what AG Barr now intends to declassify and review. Adam Schiff and his colleagues appealed directly to the CIA / FBI for copies of any docs Barr receives under his new authority. Schiff must be prepping a "counter memo" already. I can't imagine what a what a "counter" grand jury subpoena might look like though. :roflol:

The senate doesn’t do criminal investigations....the DOJ does.

Meanwhile are you all looking forward to interviewing Hope Hicks again? Trump Jr? How’d that go?

Well, you better read the whole thing, and not let Bill Barr summarize it.... that's been proven to be a dangerous scenario to the full truth...

Barr summarized the salient points. No evidence of conspiracy or obstruction. The rest is left wing hysteria.

Mueller lied when he said he could not report anything negative then filled the report with innuendo.

Here is the democrat position: Trump was found not guilty of stealing a horse but is certainly guilty of not wanting to be hanged for it.

Gee, I wonder what else happened in May 2016.

Oh, that’s right! Trump “senior foreign policy advisor” (Trump’s words) George Papadopolous blabbed to an Australian diplomat that he had been informed that the Russians had been behind the DNC hacks. A blab that was subsequently reported to Australian intelligence and to the US FBI.

I have to wonder why you even bother with this nonsense anymore.

After all, you fool’s gold fuhrer just publicly declared that not only did he see nothing wrong in having intelligence assets of a foreign government help his campaign (in this case Russia, as we knew) but that he would do it again.

Quit the parsing. Your hero confessed.

Sorry, but Papadopolous did tell the Australians about his Russia scoop, the one he blabbed right to Trump in the Trump Tower.

Ever since he got out of his light sentence, he’s been trying to walk it back. After all, he’s selling a ghost written bulk bought book through the usual right wing blogs. A bag man has to make a living somehow!

Papadopolous can deny all he wants. But the man he blabbed to isn’t changing his story, and he isn’t going to lie for Trump. But then Trump couldn’t convince Don McGhan or James Comey to lie for him either.

AG has to listen to what these whistleblowers have to say at least, right?
