I've long argued that the pay scale of Congress has a huge influence on what class they serve. So I've also advocated congressional pay being significantly less than it is. But the knee-jerk response to pile on AOC for being greedy and selfish is ludicrous when she's calling for a raise for Republicans too.

I mean, geez. "Gimme more money or we'll start exploiting loopholes and do illegal stuff like insider trading, wah."

Maybe there's an argument - maybe even a GOOD one - for COLA for these government types. Maybe. But HER argument ISN'T it. Her reasonings are so idiotic that my opinion of her swings between suspecting her as a GOP plant in order to make the DNC look bad - and suspecting her of having the brains of a houseplant.
