There is very little President doesn't understand. He was being completely candid and honest when he said if a foreign leader or person called him up he would listen. And if it was something 'bad', he would turn it over probably to the FBI--translation, appropriate authority. The Trump Tower meeting didn't produce a single syllable of information about anything so there was nothing to turn over to anybody.

Everybody single media person and congressperson and bureaucrat in Washington would take that call and would listen. Most of them who have been around for any time have from time to time. Hillary and the DNC actually solicited and paid for information from a foreign entity, and as much as the Trump haters want to sugar coat that, you can't tell me or any reasonable person that they didn't know what they were paying for. John McCain was so eager to see the so-called Steele Dossier, it was reported that he send an aide to London to get a copy and then turned that over to James Comey.

They are all a bunch of hypocrites and trying to characterize that one statement into something it was not is hateful and wrong.

 

As always, you did not read what I say and just created your own narrative. Just because you keep you head buried in the sand and only pop up when there is a negative narrative to spread against conservatives, that does not mean it does not happen.

I never once said or implied that “they all do it”, therefore it is ok. If you actually were able to comprehend what I wrote, you would see that I flat out said I had issues with others doing it as well. I also specifically said that there was "little doubt in my mind" on whether the other groups did it. That would imply that I might not have factual information that it is done, but I suspect that it is.

However, if you do want facts, it IS a fact that the RNC and HC did pay a entity (Fusion GPS) to dig up political dirt and that entity used foreign spies to obtain the information. It is also a fact that a news media organization (The Washington Free Beacon) did the same, but the information they garnered was public information (though whether that was intentional is anybodies guess).

 

Trump now trying to weasel out of his admitting that he'd violate the law and allow hostile foreign nations to assist him in a US political campaign is amusing.

so if Schiff was going to contact the FBI why did he arrange to send his aids to retrieve the information and not the FBI? Is it because he wanted to see the dirt before he contacted the FBI thinking he might never see it if the FBI got it first
And do we have any proof that Schiff contacted the FBI or is it all we have is his word saying he would?

That is a different issue. This is about accepting information from a foreign source to use to influence an election which not only did the Clinton campaign and DNC do the sought out and paid for it.

So are you saying that if the candidate seeks out and pays for dirt on their opponent from foreign sources that is OK but if a foreign source dumps it on a campaign our of nowhere that is illegal?

What specific information was given to the Trump campaign by a foreign source that was not already known by others? How did the Trump campaign use that information and AGAIN the Clinton campaign and DNC sought out such information and PAID for it.
