I'm going to paraphrase Nancy Pelosi regarding the way Trump turned his back on Iran. In my own opinion, the Iran nuclear treaty was accomplished during President Obama's second term and this is Trump's way of destroying anything that Obama accomplished, simply out of spite for Barack Obama.

    Nancy Pelosi:

"What is Trump's motivation for turning his back on Iran and on the Iran nuclear agreement? This was an agreement that was nothing less than masterful. It was a diplomatic virtuoso performance on the part of Secretary of State John Kerry, others involved, and all of these countries. Russia and China would never do any sanctions on Iran, never. From a diplomatic standpoint it was remarkable on how these countries all got together. From a nuclear standpoint, letters from nuclear physicists, some of them Nobel Laureates, wrote that "this treaty should serve as a template for nuclear non-proliferation agreements".

When Congress voted to support President Obama on that, all of the Ambassadors came from every country saying they would support it, it was a remarkable achievement. You have to wonder why, if you do not want Iran to have a nuclear weapon so you say "they could have a nuclear weapon in 10 years under that agreement" but without that agreement they could have a nuclear weapon in one year."

Obama Iran deal was nothing short of the worst agreements in history. Iran doesn't even need to get rid of their nuclear facilities.

If you want to see masterful agreement. See Trump's deal with Saudi Arabia. $100 billion in weapons deal. Saudi Arabia wouldn't even need to build nukes.

No other reason? Fixing an awful agreement had nothing to do with it?

It could likely have been a great deal for countries other than the U.S.

it was not a bad deal and woudl of been even better of the republicans in congress were not sending them messages saying America woudl not keep our word... course they knew republicans best, Trump broke Americas word in that deal... imagine if Iran had been the ones to break the deal instead of America

Um, Iran did break the deal. They broke the deal by NEVER abiding by the terms of the deal. From day 1 of the deal, they were still funding terrorism, and continuing with their nuclear development program.

The only message Obama's deal with Iran sent was the message that America is a pack of chumps.

If it was a terrible deal, Iran would have nukes. It was designed to discourage them getting nukes, and so far it's worked.

And the 9/11 hijackers all came from SA. Do you really want to give that country MORE weapons?

Sorry Congress did not vote to approve the treaty which is why Trump could single handedly opt out.

The deal was only for ten years at which point they were free to build them again and in that meantime we lift sanctions to give them more money to prepare the funding for it.

Do you really think that after ten years they are simply going to start it back up again but this time be in far better shape to get it done quickly.

And as others have pointed out, Iran was not following the tenets of the deal anyways, every other country involved in it said the same thing.

    It was a colossal embarrassment.

No deals last forever. The deal was designed to prevent Iran from building nukes. Iran did not build nukes. The deal did was it was supposed to do.

If Iran really wanted a bomb, they would have a bomb. They're not THAT hard to build. Iran's GDP is ten times higher than N. Korea. They could easily afford the R&D.

Every other country, eh? Source for this claim?

Oh, please, you are quoting an insane person, and it was a bad deal. Why do Democrats always want to suck up to our enemies? It's barf-worthy.

NK could do the R & D because they can sacrifice the welfare of their people to do it.

So even though Iran's GDP is larger they also have far more expenditures and less money to put towards it.

Not to mention that NK was able to get a nuclear scientist who knew how to do it to run their program, they didn't need to start from scratch.

Iran doesn't need to sacrifice the welfare of their people to build it. That's the point.

It's not just larger, it dwarfs the NK. It's literally the size of 10 NK's. It's not money that's stopping Iran from getting a bomb.

Do you know who Iran's BFF is? Russia knows a thing or two about nukes.

Oh, and I take it no source for your claim?

You do realize they were trying to build nukes which was the point of Obama's deal in the first place don't you?

How about Australia's political elites throw on their White pigtailed wigs and fancy nickers and strike a jolly good deal with the hoard! Now that would be WORLD CLASS NEWS indeed!
