It's not the US teams responsibility to not score goals. It was Thailand's responsibility to stop them. This is the World Cup. It only comes every four years. You play until the whistle blows. I stopped watching too, but I have no problem with them not pumping the breaks, and I won't stop watching cause one girl didn't put her hand over her heart. That is dumb.

 

You don't call off the dogs in a World Cup. If you don't like getting scored on then stop them. Simple.

Yes she has no inherent right to play on the team, the team managers choose who plays on the team. Show me where the right to play of the US Women's soccer team is derived? Is that in the Bill of Rights? Has the SCOTUS ruled there is such a right? Where is my right to play on the men's team or any such team?

Somebody really creative needs to come up with a way of giving Trump the middle finger during the National Anthem without disrespecting the entire thing... I'm open to ideas...

 

This is not about if she belongs on the team. This is what she can do on the field. And you're just trolling around the fact that you deny her the freedom of speech.

 

She earned the right to be on that team by being one of the best in our country. And she has every right to express her political beliefs any way she chooses as long as she is not breaking any team rules. She is not embarrassing anyone nor are her actions self serving in any way.

 

The Anthem is a tribute to those who fought to save liberty from English tyranny; its an ode to liberty and courage. Singing it loudly and proudly is the biggest middle-finger you could give to any tyrant wannabe, Left or Right.

 

EXACTLY and she doesn't with her hatred of the United States and refusal to represent the United States and honor or country as a member of the team. Else go play on some other team.

 

They are free to express their politics on their own dime and their own time, not on that of the country for the national teams or the owners of a professional team. If she can't even raise her hand to her heart and respect the national anthem she doesn't deserve to be on the team, why would she even want the country to win? She wants to profit off it.
