I have repeatedly stated there is no need for the current President to pardon himself.

There simply is nothing to pardon.

Well reports don't find people innocent. People are presumed innocent in teh United States until proven otherwise. The report clearly stated that it did not conclude a crime was committed. Therefore, he remains innocent.

The whole concept of separation of powers, as well as Checks & Balances, are both designed to help prevent authoritarian leaders from emerging & taking absolute power. But our government ceases to function when the branches become too separate. They must maintain an ability to work together to get anything done. A dysfunctional government is no better than an absolutist one. First the Republican Party, & now Trump & the party together, have given us a dysfunctional government, & it's going to take some leadership capable of changing their minds about the value of government to turn all this around.

Our government has been dysfunctional long before Trump came onto the scene.....and the Democrats are just as much to blame as the Republicans are.

But, we aren't talking about Ancient History.

    We are talking about NOW:

And as of NOW -- 100% of the Cause of Gov't Dysfunction is because of Trump's GOP.

I have no doubt that you see the problem as 100% Trump's fault. It was this "selective view" that got him elected in the first place. Always pointing fingers at the "other side" while ignoring the culpability of "your side". It is pretty sad when some people can not get past the (D) or (R) after politicians last name.

I have noted in previous posts that is is possible to find examples of every conceivable idea or action imaginable. Your post proves my point. I agree, it's possible for people to register illegally to vote. But I hasten to add that the vast majority of people simply aren't dishonest enough or motivated enough to go thru all that trouble to cast their one single vote. I know I wouldn't. Actually, I don't believe I'm acquainted with anyone who would. Certainly, there would never be enough people doing such things to actually swing an election in either direction, except possibly the smallest city election or county election somewhere. But I have serious doubts it could even happen there. I respectfully think the whole issue is a waste of time & effort.

I agree with your first point, but not so convinced about your second point. Wanna explain?

    • The Kavanaugh confirmations hearings were a disgrace and unfolded they way it did for partisan reasons only.
    • Maxine Waters was calling for impeachment before Trump was even inaugurated.
    • Maxine Waters other antics that called for (or at the least, implied) acts of violence against anybody on the right.
    • Many Democrats were chanting "resist" before he was inaugurated.
    • Pelosi flat out said the opposition to the wall funding was political.
    • The witch-hunt conducted on Trump. I'm not saying some investigation should not have been done....and trump certainly muddied the waters, but the hateful nature displayed while the investigation was still being conducted was horrid. A sitting Congressman stating that he had proof of conspiracy....when none was discovered from the investigation is not exactly "reaching across the aisle"
Just a few. If I had more time, I could easily come up with many more....and those were just during this administration. There are ton more examples going back for the last 20 years.

Anybody that thinks that only one party has culpability is not looking at the whole picture and is only seeing what they want to see.

We do know that crooked politicians embrace voter fraud and election rigging.
Why should anyone assume that vote fraud is not common when it is so easy and our political system is so corrupt?

"The political operative Mayor Bill de Blasio tapped to lead his new “Fairness PAC” was convicted of voter fraud in the first election of Barack Obama, records show.

Daniel “Tate” Hausman was hit with a $1,000 fine and sentenced to a year probation in the battleground state of Ohio, where he had traveled from Brooklyn to launch a get-out-the-vote group backing Obama in September 2008 called Vote Today Ohio."
NEW YORK POST, Head of de Blasio’s new PAC was convicted of voter fraud, By Yoav Gonen, August 1, 2018.

Trump is often very critical of Republican politicians and the RP. Yet another reason why he won the election in 2016 and continues to retain so much popular support. Most RP voters have almost as much contempt for RP pols as Democrats.

Yes, & I would add that in the 2018 election, a county in eastern NC actually did throw an election--or negate it--thru voter fraud. Republicans went around the district & collected unmailed mail in voter ballots, & marked all those possible as a vote for the Republican candidate. The fraud accounted for over 1,000 votes & was enough to throw the election to the Republican candidates. When discovered, the courts declared the results in that district null & void. In the same election, in GA, Republicans sought to disenfranchise over 100,000 registered GA voters. I'm not sure of the outcome in that case, but both examples demonstrate it's not only illegal individual voters that are the problem here.

Good then you know that voter fraud and election rigging are serious problems. Most Sanders voters get that now.

The whole witch hunt is compromised and any result is tainted by the idiots Mueller brought onto his team...

None of which means that Trump must yield his right to executive privilege over to a very hostile House. Do you blame Nancy and gang at all for the dysfunction that is currently occurring?

I have watched Republicans gradually adapt a policy of non-compliance & non-cooperation across the aisle beginning in 1994 & taking a giant nosedive in 2010, with the advent of the Tea Party Republicans. After 2010, things just got progressively worse fast. Mitch McConnell promised total opposition to Obama on every issue & kept his promise. He also (in my opinion) illegally stopped Obama's last nominee to the Supreme Court from even being considered for about a year--something he promises he'll NEVER inflict onto Trump. To answer your question: No, I don't see Pelosi as an equal part of the dysfunction problem. I see the Republicans as the guilty party on this issue.

Right, and all that time Democrats were sitting with hands extended across the aisle singing Kumbaya. Wow, your take is a bit lacking in reality...

As a side note, Obama made his nomination, and the Senate is under no time frame in which to confirm nor deny, there was no wrong doing, just the consequences of elections...
