And add massive casualties for the Russkis....since you would have a fierce insurgency.

To make money and split Turkey from Nato. I hope Russia can maintain some control on those systems, because Turkey has some nefarious intentions in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

I wonder what kind of reprisals can Turkey do against the US?

    Does anyone want to guess?

I'm thinking they only have the 'leave NATO' sanction to do. That will hurt the US alot, but also Turkey.

The US is also trying to stop India from buying the S-400.

    https://www.rt.com/news/461750-pompeo-india-trip-offers/

......The two nations have also locked horns over India’s decision to ink an estimated $5 billion deal with Moscow to purchase S-400 anti-air systems. Since then, the US has been pressing India to buy American equipment instead, offering Patriot and THAAD missiles as an alternative. Washington has repeatedly threatened to impose sanctions on India to prevent the sale from going forward.

Reprisals on US?......None.....comes to mind, they need us more.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the Turks ....if they did buy.....turned these missiles on the Russkis and made them extra crispy,LOL.

And do you also believe Russia is trying to split Germany from NATO by offering cheap NG? I've been comparing both Turkey's and Germany's relationship with Russia as being detrimental to the NATO mission.

Of course you can heat homes with nuclear power. Electricity. And cars used diesel, gasoline and increasingly powered by electric batteries. How many autos in Germany run on NG?

Turkey wants the technology used to create the Patriot system so it can manufacture it's own system and sell them to countries in the region. Turkey wants to become a major arms dealers. Lockheed-Martin refuses to give Turkey the classified technology. So Turkey believes Russia will provide them with the technology to build the S-400 and eventually the newer S-500 system. But even Putin isn't offering Turkey all the classified information Turkey wants.

    http://www.defense-aerospace.com/ar...c-arms-drives-turkey-to-russian-missiles.html

However, high-end technology transfer is critical a goal for Ankara in developing its arms industry.

“Turkey does not have the high technology; Turkey is still in need of technology for jet engines and engines of tanks. Turkey intends to have a much bigger and sophisticated defense sector,” professor Bagci said.

“Not only the Russians but also the Chinese are offering technology transfer. It's up to the Americans and other NATO countries whether they can trust Turkey or not. After all, NATO is based on trust.”

Moscow too has limits on sharing technology with Ankara. Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly politely rejected overtures by Erdogan to upgrade Turkey’s S-400 purchase to Russia’s latest S-500 system. But analysts suggest Moscow will continue to offer just enough technology to exploit the West's reluctance to share its technology with its Turkish ally.

You americans amuse me. You have no bounds to demand from others things that you would never do.

Hha ha god kmow how you would react when a foreign power says it wants sanction your companies so you buy from them and pay 30% more.

If Turkey does purchase the S-400 system and it looks as though they will then Turkey's membership as a NATO will likely be ended. The 2 F-35s Turkey has purchased are located in the states and being used by Turkish pilots and maintainers as training platforms. I'm pretty sure Turkey will never see these aircraft in their country if they do buy the S-400.

But homes can be heated with nuclear power. You said they couldn't. America doesn't rely on fuel from a country NATO considers a threat. If Germany no longer sees Russia as a threat then leave NATO. Otherwise what is the purpose of NATO?

If NATO means so much for you, why dont you make us an offer?

Lower your gas price on the russian level and make a law that makes it impossible for your president to cancel the deal.

You sure agree it would be foolish from german point of view to buy american has under current conditions.

Wasn't it George Friedman of Stratfor that said Washington's intentions has always been to keep Germany and Russia apart? Don't look at the tragedies of the last century. Before the Soviet Union they had a historical relationship. Not only were the Tsars brought up in Germany, but the German Emperor even chose Katherine the Great as the wife of the Tsarvich. What I think though, is that Friedman is mistaking Britain's historical intentions of keeping Germany and Russia apart, as being American intentions.

Anyway Nato shouldn't exist. But the people on its payroll want to hold on to their benefits - as do the shareholders in the military industrial complex. Many of them are active in forming our war mongering foreign policies so as to insure their benefits and profits will never end.

Russia was never a threat. They turned Russia into a threat for their own self serving interests.

Turkey wants the defense system to protect itself because it plans on going to war with Greece for the oil and gas in the Aegean. Greece is willing to give half the profits to Turkey, but they have refused. They want everything, and that means they have to grab the islands. It's quite serious because Greece is secretly reinforcing the Aegean islands.

The question is, will Russia be able to control Turkey's ambitions? We will have to wait and see.

Nobody cared when W Germany bought NG from the Soviet Union.
Suddenly it is important, for one simple reason, the US has a surplus of NG and has lifted its export restrictions.
Now US economic interest comes into play and buying gas from Russia is bad.

Nuclear power is no option, till the storage of nuclear waste is solved and no country in the world has solved that problem.

It is long past time for the U.S. and Russia to repair our relations and become strong allies. There is simply no reason for it not to happen. Then U.S. taxpayers can be freed from the burden providing welfare to the little whiney bitch countries in Western Europe that freeload through NATO and also jointly deal with the Turks....who are only in NATO as freeloaders, just like Germany.
