The fact that they were negotiating the deal still at that time makes what he sadi a lie. You lie to hide, nothing more, nothing less.

Trump was activly negotiating a deal with the Russians 2 months before the election, knowing full well that if that became public it would hurt him in the election. Defend that.

 

Trump can remember, he just knows that the truth will hurt him.

What I find most fascinating is that everyone and their gramma knew who Trump was before he ran for president. He was an unscrupulous businessman, who would do anything for a dollar, and anything to self promote. The right elected him knowing this, and actually used this as a justification - "he's a great businessman who gets things done no matter what", and Now when he is accused of doing exactly these things (lying about what he said....who he said it to...what he did.....whom he did it with etc) the right now wants to try to paint him as some saint who would never do that. It would be fascinating to watch if it wasn't so damn scary to watch them not only defend the lies and deceit, but to actually claim it never happens !

 

Negotiating for a deal. No deal materialized. Try to hang onto reality.

The POTUS had a deal in the works with RUSSIA, lied about it while campaigning to be POTUS, and now its OK because he didn’t get the deal?

I cant wait until the 2020 election so I can apply all these new standards set by the right:

1. You can accept foreign help in the election
2. You can solicit help from foreign countries
3. You can lie about anything with impunity

And once a democrat wins:

1. Laws don't apply to a democrat POTUS
2. You can tell everyone in your administration to tell congress to **** off if they ask you anything
3. You can lie about anything with impunity and the republicans will defend you and the lie

Serious question TC. If you would have know that Russia was meddling in our election on behalf of Trump, and knowing he had a deal in the works directly with the Russian government (he promised Putin a $22 million $$$ condo in the tower), would you have voted for him ?

 

Again, getting the deal and negotiating the deal are 2 very different things.

One does not have to be guilty of a crime to obstruct.
