The Moron in Chief slaps tariffs on the whole world, the whole world slaps tariffs on us in return. India is hitting the United States with more tariffs By Rishi Iyengar, CNN Business Updated 11:30 AM ET, Sat June 15, 2019 New Delhi (CNN Business)India just increased tariffs on US exports, dealing another blow to fragile global trade. The tariffs on several US products will go into effect on June 16, India's finance ministry said in a statement Saturday. The goods targeted include American apples — which will be hit with a 70% tariff — as well as almonds, lentils and several chemical products. India first announced plans to impose new tariffs a year ago in retaliation for increased US import duties on Indian steel and aluminum. But it repeatedly delayed imposing them while the two sides held a series of trade talks. ... https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/15/economy/india-tariffs-us-trump/index.html

May I splain few things to you? The whole world ben taking advantage of USA through unfair trade policies. No more; thank you, president Trump. MAGA
This is on india. Durandel didn't read past the headline it appears. TDS sufferers rarely have a clue about what they're posting. They should know by now that the cnn headline will be misleading at best and that further knowledge should be aquired before posting.
I realize that politically, India may feel it has to "do something," but it's not a battle they can win. We can suspend visas, which will freak them out.
India's banking an financial system is extremely corrupt and always has been. That is who largely runs your government. Free trade is a partnership. Your country prefers to buy military weapons from Russia but wants to us to buy tractors and outsourced services that we can buy from India. We can buy from NATO countries and other friendly countries if India does not want to trade fairly. We should be better partners. Your people have the ability to be much more friendly with the USA but your government is preventing it.
China, India, Mexico. What the left hasn't realized is that we have a rocket of an economy, while theirs are weak.
You trust correctly alexa, I certainly will. But do splain why every shithole country in the world is allowed to take advantage of US, and US is frowned upon when it tries to right the wrong? You do have splanation, don’t you?
Trump can place massive tariffs on services from India and all technical and customer support will suddenly lose Indian accent.
You're getting Trump's message across well. But American consumers have made a choice: Chinese and Indian products are cheaper. Even if Trump increases tariffs to block imports from these two countries, others will take their place in a few months. Do you think Trump can prevent Wal Mart and Target from buying in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka? MAGA as you say.....
When I was younger, I had an import business, importing textiles from Indonesia. Been to Bali and Jakarta dozens of times visiting my vendors and seen firsthand how these wares are made. 12-14 years old girls, sitting on a bare floor in poorly lit barns, hand making batiks and linens, working 12-hour shifts with a couple of pee breaks. The stuff was good, and dirt cheap. Is that a level playing field? Sure, WalMart and Target customers like cheap stuff and will find a way to bring it in, but President Trump is doing what he can. At least he's doing something, anything. What do Democrats do? They investigate Trump.
We simply need to stop their massive work visa program. They are taking tons of good jobs from Americans, because they are cheap (and shitty) labor.
Maybe American companies will pull out their customer service centers from India. I'm tired of dialing an 800 phone number and getting someone who doesn't speak English very well.
Well, where ever those call centers might end up next, you can bet they won't speak very good English either.
We absolutely have an advantage when dealing with them. The problem is, that advantage won't last so we need a more equitable trade situation now, before some Democrat comes into office and gives away the store again. Biden is pro China and would go back to business as usual in a heartbeat if allowed.
Anything is the right word. The trade war with China will have caused US to lose 1-1.2% of growth in 2019. Even if the unemployment rate is at its lowest. We had a small 2.9% growth for 2018. Trump promised at least 4%. 3% would have been enough if it hadn't put the country into debt at a historical level. Thanks to the tax cuts. The only thing Trump knows how to do effectively is to make the Dow nervous and make savers lose billions with his useless pounding. If only he would put in place an effective strategy to stimulate American buying... but it would have no credibility coming from a man who has his MAGA hats made in China.... We'll be in recession before 2021, probably in mid-2020, earlier if Trump starts another trade war with India. Like all Trumpsters, you can blame the Democrats when it happens.
