Not trying to change the topic here but how is this any different to the BLOTUS not paying attention to anything else?

He blows off intelligence, immigration, foreign affairs, immigration, economics and Congressional meetings all the time. He has ZERO interest in anything but himself. He wants to do what he wants to do whether that is playing golf, watching FauxNoise or guzzling crappy fast food. If it isn't what he wants to do then he has no interest in it whatsoever.

As far as the BLOTUS is concerned it is up to the "minions" to organize the campaign and he will just do the "fun part" which is pandering to his "deplorables" as someone once described his supporters although their name escapes me right now.

Trump is already campaigning, organized, and on a roll. Democrats are very nervous and very disorganized. Not one of the primary challengers have anything like Trump has and the top contenders are not even favorites among the democrat base as the democrats are trying to take down their own.

Trump is a money-raising machine, and his war chest is stuffed fix to bust already.

And his electoral strategy is simple. He's just going to point at the Democrat candidates and say one word "Radicals", and, right on cue, the Dems will screech like circus chimps and prove his point.

Trump, the individual, is most unpleasant. Many Republicans abhor him but not necessarily his policies. Just look at Melania when in the presence of the president; the repulsion in her eyes is quite unmistakable. Trump cost Republicans in 2018. No doubt next year will be far worse for the GOP and taint Republicans will the odious foul odor of Trump for years to come.

Yes, there are enough people who refuse to consult a graph or who don't know how to read one that they will be gullible enough to credit him for the economy.

Every major economic indicator that Trump takes credit for was already on an upward trend for years before he took office or even announced his candidacy. But, yes, there are plenty of people who will fall for that anyway.

From your magic 8 ball maybe. The first Q 2017 GDP growth was 1.8% the mean for all 8 years of Obama/Biden and the economy they handed Trump.

    The economy may save him.

It would be the only positive factor for him.

Try actually looking at GDP growth over time, which is what economists do. Cherry picking this quarter or that quarter isn't intellectually honest. Besides, if it were, Trump's highest GDP growth rate quarter doesn't even come close to the highest one under Obama. Likewise, trying to desperately ignore the actual trend line and hide it with an assymetric comparison of averages of 8 years vs 2 is equally intellectually dishonest. What anyone who actually ever works in any kind of statistical data actually does is graph the number over time and look for the trend. The fact that Trump supporters have to try to put on blinders, cherry pick, and ignore evidence to force the conclusion they want shows that the conclusion doesn't come from evidence in the first place. No one who can read a graph and has consulted them can credit Trump. To credit Trump is to champion feels over facts.

No longer a possitive factor with a large number of farmers.

Add the wood industry. The owner of one of the largest exporters said if this goes on another six months, it will do irreparable harm to the industry.

Soy farmers are starting to pull away and blame trump for their problems. And rightfully so!

And trump has already kick started inflation. It's just a matter of time now. The price of steel jumped 20% from all producers when the tariffs went into effect.

All true but isn’t it an amazing attribute of our species that tribal adherance to narrow ideology blinds so many to reality?

Only now am I getting past the feeling that this is all really just some Orwellian nightmare. It has been absolutely surreal watching this happen in MY country. I never would have thought it possible; not so fast. Trump is the most dangerous sob the world has seen since Hitler. In fact he's more dangerous than Hitler ever was because he controls the world's largest military and nuclear arsenal. And he works directly from Hitler's playbook. He even kept writings by Hitler in his nightstand at one time. [look it up]

I forget the exact quote, but Hitler even used the Make Germany Great Again type of slogan.

So you think Obama was a stain on Democrats that was going to last for years to come?

The 2018 losses were right in line with normal first term mid term losses. They werent special in any way.

The 2018 losses of the GOP were the best for the Dems in fifty years, so no the losses were higher than normal

Next year will be worse for the GOP
