    What a lunatic (link)

Here is a christian terrorist. He is preaching extremist ideology from a christian pulpit.

He has resigned as a police detective, but I can only wonder how many lives he must have ruined in his LEO duties.

I left religion long ago, and I wish more people would....all religions.

Where does Jesus say to do that, and what crime has he done? Unfortunately for you, you've got a lot higher body count from your fellow atheists than from Christians.

It's not as if he issued a fatwa, he's arguing it should be a function of government.

I am in favor of the 1st Amendment. It allows people like this to reveal themselves to the rest of us. That said, he is a law enforcement official. His words have the potential to have a significant effect on people, including potentially inciting violence.

I'd agree he demonstrates too much bias for the job. I'm interested to see if that bias has actually manifested itself.

I'm surprised a DA would have time considering they are always busy investigating mosques. :roflol:

You think a gay person would think it matters if it gets executed by religious people or executed by the government?

Do you think it's remotely possible this could happen in a Western nation?

Atheists can be terrorists. Gays can be terrorists. And this ******* of a police detective is a wannabee terrorist.

We are all safer with him resigning his job.

What's really sad is that he is a leader of a church. That means an entire congregation believes this bullshit. And to tell you the truth, I am from just outside Knoxville, TN and this is not an uncommon belief system in the region.

You’ve asked for examples of the hate against gay people by people claiming religious belief and when presented it you deflect to ‘but but but atheists’.

    I’m not surprised.

This type of thought is common throughout all of East Tennessee and Appalachia.

There is more hatred of Christians coming from the left than from Christians toward gays.

But this guy shows hatred can come from anywhere. He is defective ... he needs to be removed from in front of a microphone.

Sadly there are a lot of so called 'Christians' who feel this way. This way of thinking is antithesis of Christ's teachings in the New Testament. So it boggles my mind that so many people accept this as doctrine. The keywords you will hear are 'literal interpretation' of the Bible. That is when you get preachers who preach out of the Old Testament, interpreting these old and barbaric laws as the word of god.

This should be every bit as alarming as support for Sharia, for all the same reasons.

All religions turn out pretty much the same when they incorporate the power of govt.

not saying there isn't Christian terrorist that kill in the name of their religion but it is at least a 1 to 1000 ratio compared to Muslims killing in the name of Islam

This guy is obviously a nut. But it should be pointed out that Gays ARE being executed in some Muslim countries. They are hanged in Iran and dropped off rooftops by ISIS. If you are interested
see my thread 'Execution of Gays in Iran' in the Middle East section of this forum.

The only reason homosexuals are not thrown off the roof is that other homosexuals would kill the killers, in America.

If that is true, then their so called Christianity is not valid. What I find worse, is their unaccountability to accept this is wrong.

"Their" kind of "so called Christianity is not valid." True Christians are not adverse to LGBTQ people.
