For those in the peanut gallery, here's the preposterous claim the author is running away from like a purse snatcher with his ass on fire:

    "betting interests"
    Even odds. 2020 Presidential Election

    Ohio Red or Blue.
    Moi takes Red!
Settle Up November 4, 2020 barring any unusual recount of Ohio votes.

    C'mon @carlosofcali
Can't you come across as one of the "smart" ones?
Not agreeing but, a firm foundation to opinion. Or bet!
My best buddy is "one of the smart ones". Since 1970.
He got the discipline from parochial school and a father who was an engineer.
I learned him how to get into Medical School. USC!

The reason everything costs so much in CA is because so many people live there, and so many people live there because it's such a pleasant place to live. Sure, the taxes are less in Desolation North Dakota because nobody wants to live there because a Glacier covers the entire state from September to June at which point the Heat waves begin which last until you have a month long respite in August for the Tornados. You're supposed to LIVE where you live, not just chortle over how small your tax bill is as you freeze to death

There are fewer freeze/thaw cycles in the south. The more freeze/thaw cycles you have, the worse the roads get.

That the roads in northern California are worse even though freezing temps are almost unheard of?

I've been blessed to work and live all over America. I have lived in Chicago, Los Angeles, Springfield (a close suburb of New York), Sioux Falls, Fargo, Minneapolis, Melbourne (FL), and a dozen small towns nobody has ever heard of. One thing I learned in my travels is that people that make fun of California, or Nebraska, North Dakota, or Arizona, or Florida are usually folks that have never traveled much. California is a big, progressive, sprawling, high energy place that isn't for everyone. It's a country unto itself that rules everything west of the Rockies and most of the Pacific Rim. But, to make fun of California as some decaying third country is something only a dumb goober with a third rate education would do.

    He said
    and then you said
It is a fact that freeze/thaw cycles destroy roads. If northern California roads are worse than of course it must be due to something else.

    No, observing
it seems you @Tim15856 missed the point!

Even under the destruction of rain or snow in the Sierras,
    California maintains "better" roads.
Not The #1 Worst as advertised in the opening upload.

    Comprende?

#1 worst highways and roads doesn't have to mean road conditions. Could be traffic congestion. His link only mentions inflation, so not sure how they derived that stat.

Please, anyone considering moving away from California please stay. The rest of the county does not want you.

Actually, all true. Lived there long enough to know first hand. I am afraid you are the one playing fast and loose with the truth.

To justify the effort, you'd have to have shown at least a semblance of credibility, when in fact you've achieved the opposite.

What a sorry excuse. If you really hated living in CA, you would have moved a long time ago. You are just giving lip service getting likes from your forum righty buddies.

Much like Trump and how he is being "fiscally responsible" yet you continue to cheer him on?

Can't help it if your brother in law doesn't know how to enjoy life. The rest of us spend a great amount of time outdoor year round enjoying the temperate weather.

I'm sure he is just a rare case ;) The average Californian works a 20 hour week and spend the rest of the time in basking in the sun, boating, riding and sipping Napa valley wine

Oh hell, any dumb goober can live in California, all you need is a tent or a thick Spanish accent and a anchor baby and no real education at all.
