why do I always have to educate the economic illiterate

why other countries are investing in the Euro is because the dollar is low lower then the Euro which is good thing it means that US manufactured items are cheaper meaning more US exports meaning more manufacturing jobs here in the US
only ones benefit from a high dollar are wall street investors not the average American a high dollar hurts them because it causes less exports less manufacturing jobs

Look, the GOP opposed the Iran deal, almost every GOP Presidential candidate ran against it, so it's not a surprise that Trump would have rescinded it. It was only an executive agreement, not a treaty after all. It Obama had wanted to make it more difficult for the US to get out of, he would have submitted it to the Senate.

As far as I can tell, you think executive agreements should be held as sacred as treaties. I doubt that means that you think a future President Harris should abide by every executive agreement of Trump's do you?

We did not give our word. A treaty must pass the senate.
Usually countries that sign treaties wait for their parliaments to approve them. It’s a standard practice. By not sending the agreements through the senate Obama put a time bomb on the agreement that would eventually go off.

no, our word is our word... Trump broke America's word

by your logic Trump's deals should be revoked when he leaves office too if they are not treaties - course Trump has not made any real deals yet

republicans had full control for 2 years, where is your better deal?

    Trump broke America's word.. Sad!

did Mexico or North Korea wait? should they not respect the deal either, you wont mind if either break it as it was not official in your eyes?

Trump did not pass those deals through the Senate

If a Democrat wins in 2020, I've no doubt that the incoming President will rescind every Trump executive agreement and executive order. Will you say then, "our word is our word" and nothing can be changed from the Trump administration?

America made a deal, we were the ones to break that deal because of Trump, sure our allies will trust us in the next deal we make

if it was an agreement with another country and our allies that was signed by Trump... yes

if Trump makes a deal with Mexico or North Korea or Iran, would you be ok with the next President breaking our word on those signed deals

all the EO's - nope, those can all go, every one of them, Trump will be a wasted 4 years

The President represents the USA, when he signs a deal with another country, it's giving America's word

A weaker dollar hurts your sales to us. How does us "cut down" make you and the world safer and more prosperous and freer and with more liberty?

    Are you just playing dumb?
Do you honestly think the POTUS has unrestricted right to commit our country to an agreement without any checks and balances in place?
Only absolute monarchies don’t require ratification of a treaty by their parliament. Nobody takes a signed agreement seriously without ratification by parliament. How hard is this to understand?

I never assumed otherwise. Of course the next Democratic President would rescind executive agreements. If Trump wants them to stick, he needs to submit them to the Senate as a treaty.

deals between countries are not the same as signed EO's, we all expect them to vanish, but I agree with you on the EO's not sure why Trump used those the first two years so much, not a very stable genius

Most international trade is done using US dollars as the medium of exchange. Oil is bought and sold using US dollars. Because of this, other countries have large stores of US dollars. The net effect has been to keep the dollar very stable.

Ever since the time of lil' Bush, there has been the threat of other countries switching to the Euro for international trade. The switch, if too quickly could have the effect of causing the dollar to lose value and stability, and crash our economy.

Well the GOP Leadership for the first two years had no interest in Trump's agenda, so he couldn't count on legislation. He had to use the legal tools available. Basically same situation for this two year interlude, a hostile GOP Senate Leadership and and a hostile Democratic House one.
