McConnell on slavery reparations: Not 'a good idea'

No, it's just a play for votes.

Short of the government getting DNA tests from everyone living in the US and then researching their ancestry, there is no way to determine who was a slave and who was a slave owner.

Maybe that's one of their goals though.

 

Knee-jerking Democrats think this is a simple black vs white issue. It's not.

To really, really complicate matters there would actually need to be three categories:
1. slaves
2. slave owners
3. people who were neither slaves nor slave owners

As if separating #1 and #2 wouldn't be complicated enough, what would we do with #3? What would we do with folks whose ancestors included both #1 and #2?

The whole thing is nothing more than a stupid attempt to pander to black votes.

Democrats for their own good need to drop this reparations stupidity, it is overwhelmingly opposed by Americans. What would the pro-reparations crowd do with someone like Obama? He is a millionaire, his black side wasn't involved in slavery, unless it was on the 'business end' in Africa, and his white mother's family were slaveowners.
