Not sure why Persia is better than the USA. When you say such things, it makes you no better.

...and possibly millions of new Muslim refugees coming to America. Conservatives need to realize that each of these military encounters result in increased Muslim immigration to America.

    Absolutely true.

Having said that, Trump made the right call on this one. I think it is disgraceful that he puts his thinking out on Twitter, but he was right when he said that 150 lives was not a proportionate response to an unmanned drone being shot down.

Handled it like a champ? LOL! We wouldn't even be in this position of bilateral escalation, if he hadn't unilaterally pulled out of the agreement in the first place. This crisis is completely self-inflicted.

Second, if he really was so much into peace, why did he hire neo-cons Bolton and Pompeo into these positions of power int he first place? Again, totally self-inflicted.

Now, he want to appear like he is solving a problem that he created, like with so many other problems.

Founded Civilization. Persia was the first Big Empire and every one since has looked back to it. The Romans, even the British have worked on Persian models. The entire dynamic of Southwest Asian history can be seen as playing out the rivalry between the Arabs and the Persians.

I agree he made the right call stopping the attack. The twitter diplomacy, however, has to stop.

At the end, we have to wait how this crisis turn out. Too many times I have given Trump credit for something, only to be later sorely disappointed. As an example: His initial handling of the Kavanaugh accuser, saying that we have to listen to her, only to later completely reverse course and lead her character assassination.

My post was in response to another post which said that republicans should be outlawed because of the wars they start. I said if that were cause to outlaw some people than the dems should also be outlawed. I don't get the confusion, and I really don't care.

Sure.... there were pyramids that were thousands of years old when Cyrus the Great founded the 1st Persian Empire in 600 BC but Persia was the first Big Empire. These pyramids built 2,000 years before Cyrus didn't require an Empire at all. SMH........

After Iran shot the drone down, I expected some sort of retaliation. However, I felt that any retaliation had to be done where there was no loss of life, as the drone was not manned. Killing a Iranian citizen would escalate the situation and would not be a "retaliation in kind". If the retaliation was stopped because it could not be assured that no lives would be lost, it was the right call.

When Kavanaugh's accuser came forward, I also felt that she has a right to be heard.....though I disagreed that a person should always be held accountable for actions committed 30 years ago. After she had her chance to be heard and provided NO evidence to support her claim, it became nothing more than a political circus. There were plenty of reasons as to question the validity of her claims. Just because someone questions the motives for a person making an unproven accusation....30 years later....and during a political hearing....is not necessarily "character assassination". I would say the person making the unsubstantiated claims and in the venue the claims were made....30 years after the alleged incident...is the one attempting to commit "character assassination".

Trumpers have an ideology that betrays everything this country once stood for, that's fact, not hyperbole. I leave hyperbole to the Painted Freak, for ONLY he can save us.

    Congratulations,
I wondered how long it would take a leftie to come out and complain about wise Trump's decision.

    He's going to retaliate.

He isn't taking the Democrats bait.

Looks like your war will have to wait a bit.

Egypt was there before Persia but Egypt was insular. Persia was founded on the remnants of Mesopotamia, and Mesopotamia was there for a thousand years before Egypt
