    Can't you take a "tongue in cheek" post? You really think a dead person will apply and you will have to pay a dead person? And who is responsible for "making things better for everyone"? Living in a free country allows you the opportunity to make things better for yourself.

    I support reparations for those who fought to free the slaves.

    I'm from Ohio. We Ohioans kill racists, burn down their cities and emancipate their slaves.
    The civil war was not a slave rebellion. We did that. My people fought, killed and died to set those people free, and now they want me to pay them for that service.

    We'd be glad to pay you in the same lead coinage with which we paid the confederacy for your release.

    Maybe we should consider reparations for the American Indians. Let the whites and blacks pay the Indians. How do you blacks feel about that?

    Except the government has already settled up with them, tribe by tribe, so reparations are not really on the table for Indians.

    If reparations are paid to decendents of slaves I guarantee you the payment plan will not make common sense. And I guarantee you the more the government tries to please the more people will be displeased. This idea is the mother of all can of worms.

    yeah, that is my view too, raise everyone up regardless of race

    instead of the over a trillion+ we gave the mega corps, could of had a trillion+ dollar stimulus for the people

    The Dutch , not Americans, who bought Manhattan Island bought it from a tribe, the Canarsies, who didn't own it. The Lenni-Lenape owned it. The Dutch were swindled.

    I also support reparations for "US slaves". But first, if you actually find a "US slave", set him free.
    Furthermore, I believe that the slave holder, himself, personally, should be the only person held liable for those reparations.
